TOWN HALL MEET. Held once a month, our Town Hall Meeting with our SGM Jeff is one of the most important face to face engagements our residents sought. This is where everyone is reminded of online scams among others that prey on our vulnerable residents. Other issues are discussed and threshed out with the end in view of making our community safe, healthy and comfortable to live in.

Jigsaw Queens. Helen and Lorainne are two of the busiest residents at the library where they spend much time figuring out the several jigsaw puzzles in the room-it doesn't even last as they throw the pieces back into their boxes and grab another set after completing a set.
The activity sometimes brings their children to the library as they work on it while talking about the latest in their respective families.

WALKING WITH FAITH. Amber Meadow is blessed to have in our midst a retired Catholic Priest who made Atria his retirement home. Father Stan excitedly held a fellowship with his fellow residents and intimated his personal story on his spiritual journey from growing up at Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba to being ordained as a Catholic Priest in Ottawa.
This early, residents and staff are already looking forward to Fr. Stan's celebrating the Holy Mass at the community chapel.

NO SIBLING RIVALRY here as Mary and her sister Helen are greeted with a birthday song-a practice done to all birthday celebrants by our amazing community ambassadors. Mary (in blue sweater) just turned 101 and is one of three centenarians living at Amber Meadow. That shows you how much they are taken cared off in our community.

Shirley, one of our wonderful Resident Ambassadors at Atria Park of Vintage Hills and an avid gardener, inspired fellow resident Phyllis to start her own garden this spring by sharing seeds – and now Phyllis’s garden bed is in full bloom!

Meet Terry, a proud U.S. Army veteran and resident of Atria at Hometown. 🇺🇸

After 20 years of military service – including a combat tour in Vietnam and a career in Army JAG – Terry went on to work in federal investigations, covering high-profile cases for agencies like the SEC and Department of Justice. Through it all, one thing stayed constant: his deep commitment to service and integrity.

“I’ve had a great life,” he says. “Every turn seemed to come with a blessing. And I love it here at Hometown,” he adds. “It’s peaceful. We don’t have any stress, any problems, anything. When we got here, I felt like I was in heaven."

Meet Jay, a resident at Atria Grapevine whose love for quilting is matched only by her love for her husband, Jimmy.

Jay and Jimmy moved in nearly three years ago, after his dementia diagnosis, and they’ve found more than just care – they’ve found community. “We know everybody – all the workers, everybody – and it’s so friendly. That’s a real support system for me and Jimmy.”

When she’s not spending time with Jimmy or her neighbors, Jay stays busy stitching quilts, table runners and binding projects for friends (and even her sister). “It’s very calming to me. I enjoy it. There’s a real sense of accomplishment.”

She even transformed her pantry into a cozy sewing nook – a space dedicated to her personal passion.

How does it feel riding a steam train in the late 1800s? It must have been very exhilarating as our residents travelled to The Prairie Dog Central Railway Museum in Rosser, anitoba. The railway operates a fully restored 1900-era vintage train with five wooden coaches pulled by either an 1882 steam or a 1950s classic GP9 diesel locomotive. Each unique trip incorporates station stops at Grosse Isle where there are local country vendors with home baking, produce and handicrafts.
The Freight Shed also offers souvenirs and gifts at the Inkster Junction Station.
