Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season from the Heartland Fertility team!

Please note that our clinic is closed as of December 24 at 12PM and will reopen on January 2, 2026 at 8AM. A physician is on call during the holiday period. If you need to speak to the physician on call, please call the clinic at (204) 779-8888 and follow the instructions on the phone tree to page the physician on call.

Dr. Anet Maksymowicz is a Gynecologist and Surgeon at Heartland Fertility. Dr. Maksymowicz completed medical school and residency at the University of Manitoba. Prior to joining the Heartland team, she ran her own gynecology and obstetrics practice in Winnipeg after completing a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at the University of Saskatchewan.

→ Fertility Friends Foundation hosts information webinars and provides other crucial resources to help you feel confident and in control
→ Informed Fertility hosts several free peer support groups that are open to anyone across Canada
→ Birth Mark has a free monthly support group for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks

Dr. Khaled Zohni is a fertility specialist at Heartland Fertility. Dr. Zohni attended the University of Alexandria for his medical and master’s degrees, received a PhD from McGill University, and completed a fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Toronto. In 2017, the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) awarded him the Dr Marinko M. Bilijan Memorial Award, which recognizes an REI specialist who has made a distinguished contribution to clinical research.

Today, we’re holding space for all who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death.

The journey through fertility and loss can be profoundly painful — and no words can truly capture that grief.

Every year on October 15, people around the world take part in the Wave of Light. At 7 p.m. local time, candles are lit — each one representing love, remembrance, and connection. Together, they create a 24-hour wave of light that circles the globe in honour of the little ones gone too soon.

We invite you to share your light by posting a photo of your candle using to help spread awareness and solidarity.
