Shepherd's Trails brought Daisy and Honey to visit The Waverley Rosewood.
It was hard to tell who enjoyed the visit more, the staff or the residents!
Everyone had a chance to feed the baby goats and watch them play.
Shepherd's Trail has created a peaceful sanctuary where people can slow down, reconnect, and experience the gentle therapy that comes from spending time with animals in a beautiful setting.

Have you ever wondered what a commercial kitchen looks like?
The Waverley residents got a behind the scenes tour with Chef Peter and Sous Chef Francis.
Our kitchen prepares breakfast, lunch, and supper for all 144 Rosewood residents.
The Waverley dining room serves a hot breakfast for those interested, in addition to serving over 130 Waverley residents both lunch and dinner.
Our residents found out how much work and planning is involved in preparing hot, fresh meals every day!

About 150,000 steps were taken at our Walk for Alzheimer's yesterday afternoon. That is equivalent to about 115kms!
Thank you to all the residents and family that participated.

MediSystem Pharmacy provided blood pressure checks and had a quick health quiz with fun prizes
Sundragon Studios provided restorative chair massages
Alzheimer Society of Manitoba were there to educate everyone on the services they provide

The hydration station was frequently visited. The popsicles and lemonade helped cool everyone down during the hot day

Many people tried their hand at ladder ball for a sweet prize, they found out the game looks a lot easier than it is!

The Great Cookie Debate! What are the right number of chocolate chips to put in a cookie?
a) Load em' up, no such thing as too much chocolate!
b) Only a few, I want to enjoy the cookie

The kitchen baked a fresh batch of cookies this afternoon and it won't take long for them to disappear! It has taken many tries to get the right ratio of chocolate chip to cookie. Some think there are too many, some think there are not enough.

How do you like your chocolate chip cookies?

The Waverley traveled to the Philippines!
Our cook Marian demonstrated how to make Filipino Spring Rolls. Some brave residents even helped make a few rolls. The best part of the afternoon was sampling the hot fried spring rolls!
Marion had brought a few rice paper wrappers so even our gluten free residents could have a sample!

The staff enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch put on by Sous Chef Francis.
Fun was had by all in the courtyard as axes went flying in the hopes of being the first one to score a bullseye!

Marzena has been part of The Waverley & Rosewood family for 18 years. Not only has she has been cutting & styling everyone's hair, she has also got to know our staff & residents. She is always available for a quick trim or a long chat!

Abra Kadabra!
The Waverley & Rosewood residents enjoyed a humorous magic show with Magician Evan Morgan.
There was great participation from the residents, interactive card tricks, and disappearing bananas!

This month's chef table was enjoyed out on our patio.
Chef Peter created a Grilled theme menu for the evening. Residents started their meal with a grilled zucchini, ricotta & walnuts salad (with a charred lemon vinaigrette). Next they enjoyed grilled beef tenderloin medallions with a bearnaise sauce, grilled potato wedges, grilled asparagus, and grilled blistered grape tomatoes. They finished off their meal with grilled peaches and smoked maple pecan ice cream.
The highlight of the evening was the unique homemade ice cream.

At Lynwood Park, residents are celebrated as individuals with unique stories, passions, and dreams. Through the 'Living Dreams' initiative, those dreams are brought to life in meaningful ways.

Recently, Karen fulfilled her lifelong love of music by attending a Jann Arden concert with her granddaughter, while Ernest, a vintage car enthusiast, enjoyed a ride in a restored 1932 Auburn.

Lynwood Park continues to create unforgettable moments that reconnect residents with the things they love most.

It was a beautiful night for a BBQ!
The Waverley & Rosewood residents and their families enjoyed a delicious BBQ in the Rosewood courtyard. Dinner was served family style so everyone could enjoy as much or as little of each item as they wanted.
Chef Peter and his team served up Beer Can Chicken, Creamy Dill Pickle Potato Salad, Corn on the Cob & Watermelon Feta Mint Salad.
Fun was had by all at this unique dining experience!

Residents of The Claremont Retirement Residence in Toronto gathered for a refreshing afternoon of indulgence and entertainment at the residence's Ice Cream & Strawberry Cocktail Social. The lounge was transformed into a cozy summer retreat, complete with chilled cocktails, sweet treats, and the smooth sounds of live music.

The event was a reminder that a little creativity and good company can turn an ordinary afternoon into a moment to remember. 🍓

Residents at Venvi Churchill Place were treated to a tasty presentation from a local student entrepreneur. Charlotte, a 15-year-old with a passion for baking, started her business, Grain & Loaf Co, to showcase that healthy can also mean delicious. Specializing in whole grain, good for you baked items, Charlotte is dedicated to bringing fresh, locally sourced, and handcrafted goods to customers.

Joined by her mother and grandmother, Charlotte brought her baked scones, muffins, and challah bread to share with residents, who were inspired by her energy and passion. She shared her story, recounting how she had taught herself to bake through trial and error, experimenting with healthier ingredients to make her treats more nutritious without sacrificing taste.

By the end of the presentation, Charlotte not only shared her delicious baked goods but also forged connections bridging generations through the joy of baking.

The Bentley Regina recently celebrated their grand re-opening after months of renovations. Residents were joined by Regina’s Mayor, Chad Bachynski, and other members of the community who were able to enjoy the inviting new spaces. The residence features an ode to The Capitol Theatre and an all-new pub called The Honking Goose Tavern. Guests had the opportunity to sample the Pension Plan Pilsner, a collaboration with The Bentley Regina and Pile O Bones Brewery located in Regina - a true Saskatchewan beer. Residents at Portsmouth retirement residence demonstrated exceptional generosity and community spirit by swiftly raising $700 to aid fire evacuees in Manitoba during a critical state of emergency. Armed with these funds, the Active Living Manager and three of Portsmouth's most enthusiastic shoppers embarked on a mission to Dollarama and Walmart. There, they purchased essential supplies ranging from hygiene products, diapers, and wipes to toiletries, small toys, craft supplies, and individually packaged snacks. Way to go, Portsmouth!
