Just an update...starting Saturday August 7 there will be no changes made to the mask policy at the clinic. This means that all clients are required to wear a mask for their appointment and all therapists in the clinic will be wearing one as well. Tight calves, Achilles or heel pain, muscle cramping? Whether it’s from walking more, standing all day or from taking the stairs doing this simple stretch can help!
1. Using a wedge board place your heel of the leg you’d like to stretch on the floor and foot on the wedge board.
2. Keeping your knee straight, lean forward into the stretch (should feel it through your calf)
3. If you don’t have a wedge board you can do a similar thing using stairs and simply let your heel drop down!
**remember to hold the stretch for 30 seconds and repeat 3 times per side
**also know that the stretch should never be painful!

🙋🏼‍♀️Tight shoulders and chest? Rounded shoulder posture? Try this pec stretch that you can do at home or at work!
1. Using a doorway or wall, place your shoulder and arm (of the side you want to stretch) at 90 degrees with forearm and palm flat against the wall
2. Step forwards to into the stretch
3. Hold the stretch for 30 seconds and repeat 3 times per side
*remember that no stretch should be painful so don’t push too far!

🙋🏼‍♀️Headaches? Neck pain? Stress and tension? Here is a quick stretch for your trapezius muscle that can help!
1. Place the hand of the side you want to stretch either behind your back or sit on it to stabilize the shoulder
2. With the opposite hand hold onto your head and gently bring your neck to stretch it away from the side you’re stretching
3. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat 3 times each side
4. Follow up your stretches with some heat application and remember to stay hydrated
This can be done at home, at work or on the go and can provide relief from a variety of muscle tension issues.
