We're so excited to share our newest team member with you! 😸

Meet 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘅! He's joined our team of overnight staff and has already mastered the art of file organization. We've been told that his paw-rent, staff member Alexus, has taught him everything he knows 🧡

Everyone please tell Lorax how great of a job he's doing!!!

Check out this post from PVH detailing some potential holiday-related hazards your pet may encounter this season! Let's do our part to mitigate the risks of injury and illness ❤️💚

🎄𝟭 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗢 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗠𝗔𝗦! ⛄

At PVH, it's our mission to provide pet owners with the information they need to keep their animals safe all year round. As we're now in the festive season, keep an eye out for these common holiday hazards to ensure your furry friends stay happy and healthy:

🍫 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀:
• Chocolate (toxic to pets)
• Xylitol (found in sugar-free treats)
• Grapes & Raisins (can cause kidney failure)
• Rich, Fatty Foods (like turkey skin & gravy)

✨ 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿-𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀:
• Tinsel (can cause blockages if ingested)
• Holiday Plants (poinsettias, mistletoe, holly)
• Christmas Tree Elements (water, oils, needles – all pose risks)
• Breakable Ornaments (risk of injury)

Stay vigilant this holiday season and keep these dangers out of reach to protect your pets! Share this post to spread the word 💚🐾

𝗪𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲! 🖥️✨

We're happy to announce that WAEH has switched to ezyVet as our new practice management software! This upgrade will help things run smoother for both our staff and clients, allowing us to provide even higher quality care.

As with any big change, we kindly ask for your patience as we become familiar with all the ins and outs once the system goes live. We'll keep you updated on our social media pages as new features become available for our clients to take advantage of.

Remember that kindness costs nothing – we truly appreciate your support during this transition! 🖤😸🐾

During October, we took time to honour our amazing RVTs who work tirelessly to keep our clinic running smoothly and our patients happy and healthy 🩺❤️

Our RVTs are the heart of WAEH, from assisting in surgeries to providing compassionate care to every pet that walks through our doors. To show our appreciation, we treated them to gift certificates to Thermëa – just a small token of our gratitude for their hard work and dedication 😌

Thank you again to all our RVTs for the invaluable work you do! 🐾

Honey 🍯 and Dill 🌱 are a bonded pair, that came as orphaned kittens and were bottle fed. They're now ready for their forever home (ideally together)! They get along with dogs and kids. Honey is a female calico and easily purrs and cuddles (in true calico fashion - on her own terms). Dill is a male tuxedo that is mellow and goes with the flow. They're approximately 12 weeks old (D.O.B. estimated to be April 21, 2024).

If you’re interested in adopting this adorable duo, please contact our clinic at 204-452-9427 🐱

PLEASE READ AND SHARE‼️We see many heat stroke cases as the weather warms up!

🌡𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣 𝗗𝗢𝗚𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗟!🌡

The inside of a hot car is no place for our pups. Did you know it only takes a 2°C increase in a dog's body temperature for heat stroke to set in? Heat-related fatalities can happen in as little as 15 minutes.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀?
🔥 Cars heat up fast: On a 25°C day, the inside of a car can reach over 37°C in just 10 minutes!
🐾 Dogs can't cool down like we do: They rely on panting and limited sweat glands in their paws.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼?
🚗 Never leave your pet in the car: Even with windows cracked, it’s not safe.
💡 Plan ahead: If you're running errands, leave your furry friend at home where it's cool.
🥵 Know the signs of heat stroke: Heavy panting, drooling, vomiting, and lethargy are all warning signs.

A pet suffering from heat stroke requires immediate veterinary care. Share this post to help spread the word!
