On a winter walk with my family, we stumbled upon this little heart. I love how naturally formed, quiet and perfectly imperfect it is. It felt like such a gentle reminder of the meaning behind Larkspur: to meet one another with an open heart.

After a lovely pause, I’ll be back in the office tomorrow and will be responding to emails then. I’m feeling deeply grateful for the work I get to do, for the families who place their trust in my care and for the honour of waking alongside you, your child or youths wellness journey. Truly, this work fills my cup.

✨A small schedule note:
A last minute 3:00 appointment has opened up for tomorrow for anyone hoping to ease back into the new year with some support. After this, 3:00 appointments are fully booked until February.

As winter settles in and the natural world slows, I’ll be taking time away from the office beginning today through January 6th to rest, restore, and be present with my family.

This season invites us to listen closely—to quieter cues, shorter days, and the gentle reminder from Mother Nature that rest is not something we earn, but something we need. During this time, I’ll be fully offline and will not be responding to emails or scheduling requests. I’ll reconnect and respond once I return in January.

Looking ahead, I won’t be taking on new clients in the new year. Families who are hoping for support for their child or youth or if you as a young adult are in need, you are warmly invited to join the waitlist for February and I’ll be in touch as availability opens.

Thank you, always, for your trust, patience, and for allowing me the space to honour these seasonal rhythms as I care for my own well-being—so I can continue showing up grounded and present in the work I do.

✨The December calendar is live!

It took a little longer this time-turns out juggling family, coziness and calendars is an art form.

If you’re like me and not quite ready to face December yet…consider this your gentle nudge that it’s on its way (with or without our permission 😉)

I’ll be wrapping up sessions for 2025 on December 18th, taking a pause to sink into the holiday season with loved ones 🎄

I’ll be back in my therapy space Monday January 5th, 2026, ready to begin another year of open-hearted work.

🍂 September Behind Us, October Ahead 🍂

With September now behind us, we step into October — a month of letting go, of shedding what no longer serves us, and of finding beauty in change. Just as the trees release their leaves, we too are invited to release old patterns, worries, or expectations, making space for new growth.

This season reminds us that growth often comes with both transition and rest — that leaning into the coziness of home, family, and community is part of how we root ourselves in resilience.

At Larkspur Counseling Therapy, I hold space for every stage of this journey:

Life just got a little cuter around here! 🐾I’m soaking up all the sweetness of a new puppy, which means my inbox replies are just a touch slower these days. Thank you for your patience as I navigate puppy life. My hope is to train her as a therapy pup so she can eventually share her love and calming presence with children and families at Larkspur. Until then, I’ll keep balancing puppy playtime with therapy time! 🐾🩷

🌟 Brave Transitions: Moving Up with Confidence 🌟
A creative, connection-filled workshop for tweens getting ready to make the leap from elementary to middle school.

As a certified counselling therapist who has supported children and youth for nearly 20 years, I understand how big transitions — like starting at a new school — can stir up a lot of feelings. Excitement, nervousness, curiosity, and even self-doubt can all show up at once.

This 2-hour group experience is designed to gently hold space for those emotions while guiding participants through mindful movement, expressive art, music, and meaningful peer connection.

Together, we’ll explore what it means to be brave, how to carry our inner strengths forward, and how to prepare for change in a grounded, confident way. 💛
