Shift from shame to self-compassion. Believe it or not, coming from a place of self-compassion is a better motivator for change than is shame. Shame might create a quick fix, but self-compassion will improve your life in the long-game. ❤️

Relationship Hack——-Increase the odds you’ll successfully work through triggers and disagreements by using good timing.
From an attachment style perspective…..to minimize impulsive reactivity, anxious and disorganized partners feel safe knowing there will be a predictable time when a problem is addressed; avoidant partners feel safe knowing they won’t always have to drop everything right then and there to deal with a problem. Of course there will also be times when it does make sense to face a problem right then and there, and there will be times when it makes sense to wait….this is where partners need to be flexible with each other, which is also a version of good timing….the time for flexibility when there aren’t clear cut answers. ❤️

Really enjoying the book "How to do the work" by Dr. Nicole LePera, The Holistic Psychologist. Her chapter on trauma bonds explores how emotional and physical activation can be mistaken for authentic connection and attraction when stress response has become our comfort zone through trauma or living in chaos. Whereas, the safety of authentic love and connection is unfamiliar.

Do you ever get visits from the 'imposter monster'?!

Here's a great article about imposter syndrome we thought you might enjoy :)

"When you acknowledge your wins, regardless of size or importance, you are laying kryptonite at the feet of the imposter beast. When you pay equal if not more attention to things that go well, things that you enjoy, and things that you are good at, you weaken this pattern even more. It’s about shifting your perspective from what’s wrong and not enough about you to celebrating what is positive and good enough."

Do you dismiss a compliment, hide your true feelings, or attribute your successes to luck? Many adults with ADHD have trouble accepting positive feedback due to imposter syndrome.
