In December of 2025, the Foundation sponsored Portal Youth $15,000 for their Safe & Warm for Homeless Youth project. The goal of the project was to provide coats, boots, winter gear, sleeping bags, tents, and food cards to the over 50 youths in Kings County experiencing homelessness.

In May of 2025, the Foundation sponsored the Meet Your Feet Footcare Program $3,340.00 to purchase 2 lift chairs. These chairs are being used during their regular foot-care clinics held at the County Fair Mall in New Minas.

Meet Your Feet is a volunteer-driven outreach program of Orchard Valley United Church, and supported by the wider community, that provides essential foot care services at no cost to individuals who may otherwise be unable to access or afford them, particularly seniors and those living with diabetes or mobility challenges. The program focuses specifically on preventative and ongoing foot care, along with education and early identification of foot-related issues, with referrals to medical services when needed.

The Foundation was pleased to be able to provide $12,700 for replacement chairs for the EKM Community Health Centre's Board and Conference Rooms. These new chairs are covered in material that will help with the proper sanitization of the spaces.

A donation of $15,000 helped to install this slide/climber at the Kingsport Playground. In a couple of months, this will be put to good use, I'm sure.

The EKM Health Foundation recently sponsored Landmark East School $14,911.00 to upgrade one of their classrooms. This included the addition of a Smart Board, along with tables that can be written on, then erased! How cool is that!

The EKM Health Foundation recently awarded $96,194.00 to 13 local organizations for health-related grants. Organizations included (but were not limited to) the EKM Community Health Centre, Wolfville Area Food Bank, Portal Youth Outreach, Gaspereau School, and the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation. The Foundation is pleased to support such hard-working community groups.

The EKM Health Foundation is very pleased to be able to support such an important project in our community.

Congratulations to the EKM Health Foundation on reaching a major fundraising milestone; since 1997, the Foundation has provided $4-million in support to health-related charitable organizations and initiatives in the communities of Eastern Kings County.

The Hand-to-Hand to Help fund is one of the beneficiaries of the EKM Health Foundation. The fund provides patients and families from Greenwich to Avonport with financial help for expenses related to their cancer treatment.

Please note that the EKM Health Foundation is a SEPARATE ENTITY from the EKM Community Health Centre located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

The EKM Community Health Centre operates under the Nova Scotia Health Authority, and provides health programs and services to the public.

The EKM Health Foundation is charitable organization (not affiliated with, but whose office resides in, the EKMCHC) which provides health-related grants to eligible organizations located in Eastern Kings County.

The Wolfville Children’s Centre (located just below the EKM Community Health Centre on Earnscliffe Avenue in Wolfville) celebrated their 50th anniversary with an Open House on Saturday, October 1st. As part of the anniversary, they displayed a plaque thanking the EKM Health Foundation for helping them acquire the building to house the WCC.
