Eve's Earth Angels Outpouring light, love and hope to families in Canada

In honour of Eve Geerlinks (b/d: april 19, 2020) and the precious lives we have been given, our purpose is to outpour light, love and hope to families in Canada. We do this by supporting local health services and community groups, as well as provide essentials and desired items to families in Northern Canada. Eve's Earth Angels loves to be involved with the following groups (but are definitly not limited to) Clothing For Our Northern Friends (shipping clothing and essentials to remote communities in Canada) Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario, Children's Health Foundation supporting Children's Hospital, London, Maternal health/Labour and delivery units in community hospitals, Hope Boxes and Bridget's Bunnies as well as whatever need comes our way that we can help impact children and families' lives.

Merry Christmas!!
This year we were able to put together 6 boxes of gifts to go to 6 different families in Northern remote parts of Canada! I am still in the process of connecting/shipping the gifts but here are the 6 gift boxes. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. As always, we had hundreds of comments of interest. It always reminds me how blessed we are in the south compared to the north. Thank you for helping remember Eve and carrying on this tradition of gift giving in her name. I hope each and everyone of you are having a very wonderful holiday time!
Blessings to all of you!

Christmas presents for Northerners!!
Christmas is the most joyful and yet one of the hardest times of the year for myself and many others. It’s a time to celebrate but yet a harsh reminder who isn’t here. I personally struggle as it come to Christmas. I see all the gifts I should be buying for Eve, I know at all the gatherings, there should be a spot for one more.
One way I have found to make the holiday season less hard is to purchase gifts for whatever age Eve would be that year and send them to little ones in Northern Canada where it is hard and expensive to access needed and wanted items. It has been a blessing to have friends, family and donors support this gift giving in Eve’s honour each Christmas. It brings me a lot of joy collecting, sorting and packing the Christmas gift boxes. Most of the time I get pictures or videos from the recipients, unfortunately due to privacy I cannot share these but let me tell you, we have made little ones and their families so so happy! Once again as Christmas approaches, I thought I’d open up to you all again and see if anyone wants to participate in this year’s gift giving. You may do it in honour of Eve, who would be 5 or anyone you would like. The deadline for gifts/financial donations is Dec 5.
I will collect funds and gifts then sort them into boxes, and post them to a group I use to connect with Northerners, then send them. It’s always done in a draw style and we get hundreds of families interested.
Alternatively you can also purchase a flat rate box and fill it yourself if you desire.
I know many of you like shopping on Amazon, I have once again made a wishlist where you can purchase items and have them ship directly to me, of you would like to donate through the wish list, please see the link below

https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/3OTI8PS4MPZRN?ref_=wl_share

You can also purchase items not on the list and send them using the wishlist link.
Thank you for always supporting this journey of bringing light love and hope to so many families across Canada!

Does anyone have an extra rain coat that would fit like ladies small (or medium).
I have a local single mom who has a job working outside and is in need of a raincoat. Let me know if you can spare one!

Please read:
Earlier this year, I spoke of some transitions our family was expecting. Things are now more official and I can let you all know, that part of our transition includes us relocating to Etonia, Ontario area. (Princeton/Falkland/Paris area if you're not familiar with Etonia) in October.

I have continued to reflect on this outreach and have been trying to brainstorm and find ways that we can help others. I also realise that I will be less central to a lot of donors and be out of town for local recipients of help. As of right now, with me working full time, also on and off pursuing education and potentially adding another job to my plate, shipping regularly to people living in Northern remote parts of Canada doesn't work with my schedule. I want to continue to do Christmas and Eve's birthday gifts to little ones up north but am still searching for some sort of need or way we can help out in some other way throughout the year. I am willing to drive if needed but am lacking in finding direction. I have thought a lot about local needs but also realise I am not accessible to everyone as I will be living very rural.

I am coming to all of you for suggestions, support and opinions. I am open to volunteer positions, collecting and distributing goods, anything really, though it is hard for me to commit to a certain day of the week as my work schedule is always different. I would like it to be something I can somehow involve all the amazing followers/donors we have as well if possible.

So my friends, are any of you involved already in charity/volunteer/outreach work? If so do you mind sharing about it? Do you see a need locally or not locally that isn't being met? Do you have a thought on how you or others could better your community but don't know how to get your idea from talk to action? Really, I would love to hear any thoughts on outreach, whether it be some thing you've done before or not! If you're not comfortable commenting, your more than welcome to message me.

We have an amazing community of people, how can we use this group power to better our world? I'd love to have some conversation!

Thank you for all your continued support as we transition! Although I am unsure of our next direction, I'm sure the right thing will come and we will continue to fulfill our mission and be able to bring light, love, and hope to families.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our "birthday gifts" in Eve's honour for those living in Northern remote parts of Canada. We sent five large boxes to five different families. All items, including those added in were brand new. Each box also had a ziplock baggie of kids toothpastes, toothbrushes and multiple ziplock baggies of snacks that weren't in the pictures. The snacks included packaged rice crispy squares, granola bars, cereal bars, bear paw snacks, fruit to go snacks and hard candies.
Thank you to a family member's dentist for supplying all the kids tooth pastes!

Box 1 went to a family in Sachs Harbour in North West Territories. Once I packed in everything, I had some room left over and was able to add in another hat, more crayons, a paw patrol toy, a flamingo stuffie, pencil crayons and Dora the Explorer wall decor.
Box 2 went to a family in Pond Inlet, Nunavut. Once I had everything packed in, I was able to add in more crayons, another hat, a washcloth, stickers, a drawing pad, a kids dvd and a hair clip.
Box 3 went to a family also in Pond Inlet. I was able to add in another hat, a flamingo stuffie and underwear.
Box 4 went to a family in Clyde River, Nunavut. I added in stickers, and a Baby Alive mini figs surprise pack.
Box 5 again went to another family in Pond Inlet. I was able to add in more crayons, a Barbie, more bouncy balls and another plastic container.

After putting together these 5 boxes, there were a few left over items, and some financial donations yet. I also had some late financial donations. I am currently working on putting together another box of gifts. Though I may wait and see what happens with Canada Post before connecting with Northerners regarding a draw for the 6th box.

We had over 580 comments of interest in our gifts!! It always reminds me of how great the needs and wants are for Northerners. It reminds me that we are so fortunate living in Southern Ontario where we have access to almost anything we want at our finger tips. Thank you for helping to bring some much desired items to children whose family may not otherwise have access to, or funds for the items we included in our gifts. Thank you to each and everyone of you for helping to spread love and light, especially through this campaign, as it personally touches me and helps me through the darker month(s) of my grief seasons . Thank you for honouring Eve in this way. We may not be able to buy her gifts in real life, but I know the gifts "for her" will bring so much joy to the families that were selected. Thank you!

This year we were able to put together 5 large boxes of gifts for little ones living in Northern Canada in honour of Eve's 5th birthday, with shipping paid! Each box equals one picture. Not in the picture is a baggie of snacks included in each box, as well as tubes of kids toothpaste and toothbrushes. Currently I have the boxes posted as a draw in the group I use to connect with Northerners. I will select recipients from comments of interest in the next day or two. Every time we have done gifts in this way, there is always over 500 comments of interest! It's hard picking only a few winners. Once I know where the boxes are going, I will let you know where they go to.

She would be turning 5

For those of you who don't know, I started this outreach after my daughter, Eve, passed away on the same day she was born. It was a way to distract myself from the pain and helping others made me feel some light in the darkness. Every April is full of mixed emotions for me. Eve's birthday is April 19th, mine is the 21st. When I had Eve, I almost died the same day as her, I don't talk about that part all the time, I fear people will think I'm being dramatic. But when the dr tells you if you hadn't been in assessment at that exact moment you were, where something happened to make them realise more was going on and rushed me to the OR, I would have died too, I take their word for it. Our birthdays so close together brings strong emotions, grief over losing Eve and her not being here but also greatfulness that I am still here and able to enjoy life. It's a mix of sadness and celebration.

One way I find it easier to cope is to buy gifts that I would have bought Eve if she were here on her birthday and Christmas and giving them to little girls in remote northern parts of Canada. This year she would be turning 5. I will be again purchasing gifts as well as accepting any gifts or finances for Eve's birthday gifts and plan to ship them on her birthday.

Last year in Eves' birthday, we were able to put together 6 boxes full of gifts and sent them to precious little ones in Northern Canada.

If you would like to contribute to Eve's birthday gifts, please don't hesitate to connect with me :) you can fill a whole box or just pick up items and I will go through all the items and divide them up into however many boxes we can fill. I like to always cover the shipping for these boxes, to me it seems rude to ask for shipping on a free gift amd want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to get a gift, not just those who can afford shipping.

If you would rather shop online and want some ideas, I have again made a wishlist on Amazon that will ship the items directly to my place. If you are interested in that, here is the link

https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/FP9W4DF1Q16Y?ref_=wl_share

I will need all gifts by April 19th.

Thank you to every one of you for keeping this outreach going and blessing so many people and spreading light and love.

IMPORTANT POST PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING!
I have been reflecting a lot on the direction and purpose of Eve’s Earth Angels over the last few months. Since my work situation changed a year and half ago, I feel like I don’t have the time commitment to continue to ship to families in remote northern communities if Canada. Prior to that job change, I was always either on leave from work or working part time which helped give me time to sort, communicate with northerners and ship boxes. I now work full time and am currently also in school. There is a lot of communication and behind the scenes work to be done for every box that is sent. Boxes must also be sent in a timely manner, and if I’m working several days in a row, I cannot commit to being timely. I have been collecting donations, presorting them and majority are being sent to Callie with Northern Love to ship. I feel like my hearts not in it the same, now that I’m not directly connecting with northerners and it’s easy to let donations sit before getting sorted and passed to Callie. I had hoped to send some items to community groups but now that I am less active on social media and sending less boxes, our financial donations have dropped to almost none.
At the same time, our family is facing some more transitions in the next 6 months. This may impact availability and the ease of which you can donate.
All this plus other reasons has me being pulled to help in more local ways. Through doing this work and passing on things locally that couldn’t be shipped, I have seen so much local need. As much as it saddens me, I think other than Birthday and Christmas gifts which still seem to be popular, at this time I am going to no longer take donations for those living in remote northern communities. I feel like that chapter is closing. As much as it has been a blessing to be able to follow our mission of outpouring love light and hope to families through this way, I have reminded myself a lot lately, it is not the only way to fulfill our mission. This is not an ending but a new beginning.
It would be Eve’s 5th birthday this April. I hope all of you will continue to help us bless others and honour her by participating in sending birthday gifts for her again. I will make announcements and wishlists for Eve’s birthday in March. After her birthday, I will be looking at localish ways that we can make an impact. I am looking to you guys for direction, Do you see a need not being filled locally? Do you know of an initiative that needs help? Do you have an idea but need support? What sort of initiatives, either already established or not, would you feel like supporting? Do you feel like clothing is a good way to help or find something else that would be more beneficial? Do you guys want ways to volunteer or only donate? Are you open to financial giving and fundraisers or prefer physical donations? I am open and would love to start some discussions and have your input on the direction we go. The more you guys are open and share with me, the more we can make it be something you all can participate in. Within a few short years, what started as me sending a few boxes up north, grew into this outreach that now has around 280 followers. We’ve sent 1000s of boxes up north, helped multiple Charities with financial donations and helped 100s of families locally. Our work may look different as we continue to outpour love light and hope, but it is far from over!
As always, thank you to each and every one of you for all your love, support and donations over the last 4 years. It has been a blessing to bless others with your help! Thank you for all that each of you do!
Also if you feel more comfortable messaging me instead of commenting, feel free to do so.
If possible, if you have read this, can you leave a comment of any sorts (even just an emoji) to help this post be seen (and so I know whose seeing it) and help direct our future. Thank you!

Our Christmas gifts have been sent! There were some delays with the postal strike, illnesses and with connecting with the recipients but I’m happy to say all our gifts are on their way or have been received! We were able to send 10 very full boxes to 10 families living in Northern remote parts of Canada. Each picture is one box of gifts. Once they were packed in I was able to add in at least 2 baggies of snacks to each box.

Box 1 went to a family in Kugaaruk, Nunavut. After packing it up, along with the snacks, I added in another new plate, a small stuffie, another toothpaste and a new kids book.

Box 2 was shipped to a family in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. After snacks, I added in a new Jenga game.

Box 3 is headed to a family in Baker Lake, Nunavut. On top of the snacks, I was able to add a pair of new kids socks, and a new pack of crayons.

Box 4 is going to another family in Rankin Inlet. Along with the snacks, I added in another new Jenga game.

Box 5 was sent to yet another family in Rankin Inlet. Snacks, Paw Patrol toys, and 2 new books were added in after packing it up.

Box 6 was mailed to a family in Taloyoak, Nunavut. Along with the snacks, I was able to add in 2 new kids books and new sidewalk chalk.

Box 7 went to a family in Clyde River, Nunavut. After the items and snacks went in, I added new kids socks, 2 kids books, and another toothpaste.

Box 8 was shipped to a family in Selkirk, Manitoba. This was the first time I have shipped to someone in Selkirk, it’s not too often now that I find someone in a community I haven’t shipped to before. Along with the snacks, I added in new kids socks, another toothpaste, a bar of soap and Oreos.

Box 9 is headed to a family in Coral Harbour, Nunavut. Once the items and snacks were in, I was able to add bars of soap, another toothpaste, and a travel pack of Kleenex.

Box 10 went to a family also in Taloyoak. I had room to add in the snacks and bars of soap.

Thank you so much to everyone of you for making this happen, from those who shared posts to those who donated funds and gifts to those who provided support. It’s a blessing to be able to organize and send these gifts.

Stay tuned for some announcements and updates in the near future as we continue this journey of blessing those living in Northern remote parts of Canada.

The presents "for Eve" to be sent to families in Northern Canada have been coming in, I'm excited to announce we will have at least 10 boxes of gifts to send to 10 different families! Due to Canada Post being on strike, we will not be able to send our gifts in time for Christmas. That being said, I thought I'd extend the deadline for gifts to be donated to Dec. 15th. Maybe we can collect enough to fill another box?
Thank you every single one of you that has helped make this happen! It is only because of all of you amd your generous hearts that we are able to continue to bless those living in Northern remote parts of Canada. THANK YOU!!
