Today, on National Caregiver Day, we recognize the incredible caregivers of all ages - family members, friends, neighbours and loved ones - who provide care to our clients each and every day. 💙

Caregiving is an act of love - but it can also be physically and emotionally demanding. VON is proud to support caregivers through our Adult Day Program (ADP), respite services, caregiver supports groups, telephone reassurance calls and more. These options provide meaningful interactions for clients while giving caregivers time to rest and recharge.

A Caregiver Ally can:

➡️ Provide one‑to‑one emotional support
➡️ Offer a safe space to talk openly
➡️ Normalize caregiving stress and anticipatory grief
➡️ Be a consistent, compassionate presence
➡️ Walk with you through transitions and changes
Support may begin during illness and continue into early bereavement
