The Woodstock Slammers picked up 4 out of a possible 6 points this past weekend, but suffered a 2–1 shootout loss to the Northern Maine Pioneers last night.

The Slammers currently sit second in the New England North Division, holding just a one-point lead over Universel Québec for the spot — setting up a big weekend in the standings.

The Slammers have a pair of games at home on March 13th and 14th as they host the Northern Maine Pioneers for a two-game series. Meanwhile, Universel Québec will play at home Friday before heading to Lewiston for two road games.

This coming weekend will determine who will finish second place.

Your Woodstock Slammers have a big three-game homestand this week. They kick things off Thursday night against the New England Wolves at 7:30 PM. The Slammers will host the Wolves again Friday night at 7:30 PM, before wrapping up the weekend Saturday night against the Northern Maine Pioneers, with puck drop set for 7:30 PM.

Playoff Seeding Update

The Slammers currently trail Universel Québec by three points in the division standings but have two games in hand. With the playoff race tightening up, every point is crucial.

The good news? The Slammers need just one more point to guarantee they will finish no lower than third place in the division standings.

It’s shaping up to be an exciting weekend of hockey.
