November 9–15 is Perioperative Nurses Week! Perioperative nurses help care for patients before, during, and after surgery. They prepare the Operating Room, support patients and surgeons throughout procedures, monitor the patient’s recovery, and ensure every step of the surgical journey runs as safely and smoothly as possible. If you’ve had surgery at Woodstock Hospital, you experienced their dedication firsthand!

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our Pharmacy, Chemotherapy, and Diagnostic Imaging staff held their annual staff bake sale by donation. The treats tasted even sweeter knowing that every dollar raised would support our Chemotherapy/IV Infusion Clinic. They even had some familiar faces stop by to lend a hand!

💗 A big pink thank you to our incredible Pharmacy, Chemotherapy, and Diagnostic Imaging teams for hosting this year’s Baking for Breast Cancer!

This sweet annual tradition brings staff together to support an important cause, and thanks to everyone’s generosity, an amazing $712.20 was raised.

A heartfelt thank you to all who baked, donated, and stopped by to support - your efforts make a real difference and help spread awareness one delicious treat at a time! 🍰💞

Last Wednesday, we were proud to take part in Take Our Kids to Work Day!

Our team enjoyed welcoming students and giving them a glimpse into the many roles that help our hospital provide exceptional people-centred care each day. We hope they left inspired by the variety of career opportunities in healthcare and maybe even sparked an interest in joining the field one day.

At 11:00 a.m., we will observe a moment of silence to reflect on and express our heartfelt gratitude to all veterans and their families. Lest we forget.

On Friday, we were honoured to welcome Premier Doug Ford, Minister of Health Sylvia Jones, and Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman to Woodstock Hospital. During the visit, we were able to highlight how we are enhancing patient flow through our Emergency Department, provide an update on the Oxford County Wellness Centre, tour our newly expanded Chemotherapy Clinic, and share an example of the positive impact of community partnerships. It was an afternoon our patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers won't soon forget!

MRT Week is November 2-8. If you've ever procedures like an x-ray, CT, or mammogram, a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) was the skilled healthcare professional operating the equipment and producing those important images. Their knowledge, expertise, and attention to detail help ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Thank you for all you do for our patients!

Oxford HART Hub Update: Central Intake Now Open

Work continues to advance on the Oxford HART Hub – a network of coordinated care designed to support individuals in Oxford County who are facing complex health and social needs, including homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.

If you or someone you know is seeking support, you can now self-refer by calling 519-537-2382, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Members of the Oxford HART Hub team will help callers understand their options and connect them to the right care pathway.

It’s National Patient Transport Week!

Whether they’re bringing patients to tests or surgeries, or transporting equipment between departments, our hospital porters ensure that care happens smoothly and safely every day. We often hear feedback from patients about the friendly chats or smiles they have received from this incredible team while being helped to where they needed to be.
