Your morning can quietly shape the tone of your day. The way you start often carries through in small ways, so it can be worth being intentional with those first moments. How do you start your mornings?

That phrase is about trade-offs and boundaries. It means that your time, energy, and attention are limited. So when you say “yes” to something you don’t really want to do, you are indirectly saying “no” to something else that matters more to you.

Saying yes to a commitment might mean less time for rest, hobbies, or people you value. Agreeing to something out of obligation can crowd out opportunities that align with your goals or priorities.

As we enter into the busyness of Spring be intentional about your “yes."

Life doesn’t always come with a clear map. Sometimes it’s about slowing down and making sense of what you’re feeling and noticing the patterns that keep showing up.

At Inner Map Therapy, I offer a space to explore your experiences, emotions, and the stories that have shaped you, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I’m here to listen and walk alongside you as you work toward clarity, healing, and a sense of direction that aligns with your values.

🙋‍♀️ Fellow intellectualizers (aka the ones who cope by overthinking instead of feeling), raise your hand.

You’ve gotten really good at understanding your patterns, naming your emotions, and making sense of everything.

But sometimes all that thinking becomes a way of staying one step removed from what’s actually being felt.

If you notice yourself stuck in analysis, try this:
Pause and ask, “What am I actually feeling right now, underneath all the thinking?”

You are the expert of your own life and I see my role (as a therapist) to come alongside you to explore parts of yourself that may never have been spoken out loud before. For some people, therapy is the first space where you can reflect on the way you see the world and notice how your experiences have shaped you.

For some people there is a part of them that keeps showing up in the same situations, making the same mistakes, or ending up with the same kind of people. You know that feeling, like being stuck in a loop no matter how hard you try. Logic, advice, or willpower alone cannot reach this part. It holds onto something important it learned from your past. In Coherence Therapy, we discover your emotional learnings and the ways they have shaped how you respond to the world.

At the start of therapy, a lot of people want to get rid of distressing feelings as quickly as possible. I often hear, “How can I fix this or make it go away?”

Slowing down and paying attention to our bodies and emotional responses can help us understand what is driving them. Instead of reacting in autopilot, we can begin to see how our reactions are shaped by past experiences and the ways we’ve learned to respond over time.

Burnout can creep up quietly. Not everything that fills your time gives you energy. What works for you may not work for someone else, but finding a balance between what takes your energy and what helps you recharge can be an important step.

Sometimes we fall into a pattern of just trying to get through life (or getting to Friday) and not living in the moment. In that, we can lose space for the things that bring meaning, connection, or joy.

Noticing it, and reaching out for support if you need it, can be a small first step.
