Being around the wrong people will make you question yourself.

You’ll start explaining things that should be obvious.

Defending decisions that don’t need defending.

Even feeling guilty for being who you are.

That’s what happens when values don’t align.

It creates constant friction you can’t fix.

You can’t force people to understand you.

You can only choose better who you keep around.

The right people won’t make you shrink to fit in.

Not answering the text. Not going back because you feel lonely. Not overexplaining. Not giving more chances when you already know what the outcome will be.

Self respect is built in those small moments when you choose yourself, even when it feels uncomfortable.
