COVID 19 Testing Guidelines - Update by Province April 11.
Who qualifies for a PCR test?
SYMPTOMATIC people:
- age 70 +
- age 60 + who only have 1-2 doses of covid vaccine (not 3)
- immunocomprimised
- age 18 + who do not have 3 doses of covid vaccine plus have:
> obesity
> diabetes
> heart disease, hypertension or chronic heart failure
> cerebral palsy
> intellectual disability
> sickle cell disease
> moderate / severe kidney disease
> moderate / severe liver disease
- other people at high risk of severe disease who may be eligible for covid treatment (antivirals) if test positive
- pregnant women
- health care workers
- staff, volunteers, residents/inpatients, essential care providers and visitors in high risk settings (i.e. hospital, nursing and retirement homes, paramedic services, congregate living settings such as group homes and shelters)
- household members of high risk setting workers (i.e. health care workers)
- home and community care workers
- agricultural workers in congregate settings (i.e. migrant farm workers)
- homeless, underhoused
- first responders - fire, police, paramedics
- staff and students in Provincial and Demonstration Schools
ASYMPTOMATIC (no symptoms) or could have symptoms:
- First Nation. Inuit. Metis and / or who self-identify as these plus their household members
- people travelling into First Nation, Inuit, Metis communities for work
- on admission/transfer to or from hospital or congregate living settings
- people identified by public health to be tested as part of an outbreak in high risk setting
- any patient with a scheduled surgical procedure requiring a general anaesthetic 24-48 hours prior to procedure date
- newborns born to people with confirmed COVID-19 at the time of birth within 24 hours of delivery with a repeat test at 48 hours after birth
- people 24-48 hours prior to treatment for cancer or prior to hemodialysis, at the discretion of treating clinician

Effective February 17 at 12:01 a.m., capacity limits will be lifted in most indoor public settings where proof of vaccination is required, including restaurants and bars, gyms, meeting and event spaces, and more.

Due to inclement weather, the COVID-19 testing site in Wyoming is closed again today. All patients are currently being contacted to reschedule testing appointments. There is plenty of availability in tomorrow’s testing clinic if you are in need of a COVID-19 test and meet the current eligibility criteria for swabbing.

Please be advised that COVID-19 testing in Wyoming will be closing at 5:00 PM today due to anticipated inclement weather conditions.

There is plenty of availability for testing from 12:30-5:00 today if you are in need of a COVID-19 test.

If you are unable to make your appointment due to weather today, we understand and there is plenty of availability in tomorrow evenings clinic. Please drive safe.

We are seeing a significant number of requests for copies of laboratory reports of positive COVID-19 results in our email inbox. We have provided a few helpful hints below to assist in accessing your results.

-When emailing (covidclinic@clfht.com) to request your results, please include the date you were tested, your name as written on your health card and your date of birth.

-All test results are picked up at the drive thru during our hours of operation.

-You must have completed your isolation and be 24 hours symptoms improving to pick up your test result. Please do not present to the testing site for your result if you are still in isolation and/or feeling unwell.

We appreciate your assistance in this matter.
