February is AMD/Low Vision Awareness Month👁️

What is Low Vision?
Low vision is vision loss that cannot be corrected with prescription glasses, contact lenses, medications, or surgery.

What can cause Low Vision?
One of the most common causes for low vision is AMD (age-related macular degeneration). AMD is described as a progressive eye disease that affects the macula which is the central area of the retina where our central vision occurs.

To help maintain healthy eyes, visit your optometrist if you are experiencing the following:

- blurred or fuzzy vision
- difficulty recognizing familiar faces
- wavy lines
- dark areas
- blind spots

Winter dry eyes got you like 👀❄️?

Cold air + indoor heat can leave eyes feeling dry, itchy, or gritty. Try using a humidifier, wearing sunglasses outdoors, blinking more during screen time, and keeping artificial tears handy! Warm compresses and staying hydrated can also help!

If symptoms stick around, it might be time for an eye appointment!
