I am so incredibly honoured and grateful to be nominated for the YK Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Award of Excellence and Trailblazers Women In Business awards. I am not one to appreciate the spotlight, preferring to commit my time to my clients and community behind the scenes. But I am incredibly honored to have been nominated. I most certainly would not be where I am today if it were not for my friends and my Yellowknife family, and of course, all my wonderful clients. I am so grateful for you all. Over the years, I have watched you pass through different chapters in your life -whether that be finding love and experiencing loss, navigating career changes, having children or embarking on incredible travel adventures- of course, all those injuries, aches, and pains. For many, I have watched your children grow up, become my own clients, and adventure off into the world.
In turn, so many of you have been alongside me as I've moved my practice, navigated COVID and the evacuation, gone through marriage, experienced the loss of loved ones, and celebrated my biggest blessing: the birth of my beautiful boys. I am so lucky to have such kind, considerate, and wonderful clients who make up my practice. You have all allowed me to not only be a successful woman in business, and member of the community, but also a mother, and a wife, without feeling that I had to choose between these roles. You have all been so patient and understanding throughout my career, and I will be forever grateful to you all.
To all the other nominees, I wish you all the best luck as well for your well-deserved recognition.
