💛 Thank you, thank you to all the ALBERTA Pharmacists who have helped our Yellowknife evacuees. We are so thankful of their expanded scope of practice.
For information about your prescriptions or other pharmacy needs, please contact another Shoppers Drug Mart location, or call your pharmacy of choice. You may also visit www.nthssa.ca/wildfire for the latest information on prescription refills and requests.
🔷 ALBERTA Pharmacists have multiple tools at their disposal for providing care to patients:
1. Transfer prescriptions. They can collaborate with the patient's regular pharmacy and healthcare providers to transfer or obtain required prescriptions. *Keep in mind not all pharmacies will have the ability to access their files remotely.
2. Prescribe or adapt prescriptions for the patient. In these circumstances, they will need to review standards of practice for direction. *If you have an empty vial, this can greatly assist a pharmacist.
3. They can provide virtual care if appropriate. If the patient is not able to attend the pharmacy in person, care may be provided virtually.
4. Alberta has several pharmacist led clinics.
