The Bliss of the Breath

Breathwork, known as pranayama, is one of the 8 limbs of classical yoga practice. In learning to control our breath, we have the ability to settle our mind and create a sense of peace and contentment. As we slow down and become more present, we begin to develop insights and clarity to assist in managing our daily challenges and emotions. Pranayama creates positive benefits in our physiology including modulating our immune, nervous and hormonal systems. It aids in our healing and restoring balance and homeostasis to our body. Our breath is the connection between body and mind. It is truly inspiring to observe the impact a consistent breath practice can have on our lives. In these sessions we will begin with a short discussion of pranayama, followed by some simple breath practices, ending with a nourishing yoga nidra.
