We are making another thirty-one million (31,000,000) Naira investment in 2026 for viral hepatitis B & C elimination.
This is how we intend to meet our goals;
1. Increase awareness by at least 60% among our target population.
2. Provide free point of care testing/screening for 5,000 beneficiaries at N5,000 for Hepatitis B (but without cost).
3. Provide free point of care testing/screening for 1,000 beneficiaries at N6,000 for Hepatitis C ( but without cost).
This will amount to;
N5,000×5,000 beneficiaries =25,000,000 for Hepatitis B and
N6,000×1,000=6,000,000 for Hepatitis C.
This will make a total of N31,000,000 (thirty-one million Naira investment) towards hepatitis B & C elimination.
This will be in line with the global best practices, the WHO SDGs and UHC goals of affordable, accessible and acceptable health equity/services.
If successful, this is adding to our effort even though "never" sufficient in contributing to the struggles against the burden of hepatitis B & C in Cross River State.
We have received deliveries of 5,000 pieces of HBsAg, 1,000 pieces of HCV test kits and other valuable consumables for our mobile laboratory services.
Our goal is test, vaccinate, treat all! So long as it is about hepatitis B & C.
