⏳ Today's the day for the NATIONAL INSURANCE BILL VOTE for social care⏳
The House of Commons will decide today Wednesday, March 19, on the National Insurance Contributions Bill…a decision that could devastate adult social care if urgent action isn’t taken.
⚠️ FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
• 73% of care providers will be forced to refuse new care packages without immediate government support (Care Provider Alliance, Nov 2024).
• 47% of providers are already preparing to hand back contracts because local authority fees don’t cover real costs (Providers Unite Survey, Feb 2025).
• Councils can now only afford basic social care services, pushing people into crisis and breaching The Care Act.
• People who need care are being refused which is causing more hospital admissions.
• Without carers how do people get the time sensitive insulin to save people's lives.
°When the NHS and the ambulances went on strike we was told if our service users needed medical help we would have to take them to hospital ourselves, should the NHS look after our people while tje care sector goes on strike no theu won't.
• The care sector can't go on strike becaise who would look after the people not the NHS.
• The care sector can't even claim the vat back on the ppe and equipment we buy weekly most compays do apart from care.
• Some company's have to reduce the service users they have to help them survive this new national insurance bill
• The care sector is forgotten about while everyone is remembered
• We are the backbone of the NHS without the care sector the NHS wouldn't be able to survive as they would have a major influx of people in hospitals
• Who will look after the elderly people when the family's don't care or bother with them
• We are the ones who went out in covid to look after people
•We are the ones who helped look after people when the hospitals sent dying covid patients home and risked our own family's by helping people in covid, did we get the clap? Did we get the appreciation? Did we get support? .. No we didn't, We didn't even get a thank you from government nope we just got vat added on to our PPE orders.
Ask the government and your local mps to help the care sector if the care sector closes, it affects every town and city in the country, it will affect your mom's and dad's, nans, granddad's the disabled and anyone else who gets care.
This Bill must include an exemption for social care, or providers will collapse, and thousands will be left without care.
