The Power of Devotion and Innocent Love
Sabari was unsure whether the jujube (ber) fruits were sour or sweet. She wanted to offer the sweetest fruits to Lord Rama. So, she tasted them first and discarded all that was sour. Then, she offered him the sweet fruits. The Lord, watching her innocent love and devotion, lovingly accepted them.
Sabri's half-eaten jujube (ber) is Naivedya. Naivedya, or the offering of food, is a powerful symbol of gratitude and reciprocity with the divine, celebrating our interconnectedness and dependence on God's love and care. This heartfelt act, performed with boundless love, innocence, devotion, and reverence, cultivates spiritual growth, inner peace, and a profound connection with the divine.
Naivedya can be as simple as offering a common fruit, filled with love for God, which overflows into love for everything around us, transcending desires.
Sabri's selfless offering of half-eaten jujube (ber) to Lord Rama embodies the spirit of devotion, while Lord Rama's acceptance exemplifies unconditional love and acceptance.
This iconic gesture illuminates the transformative power of love and devotion, inspiring positive change, spiritual growth, and ultimately Moksha.
Leela of Sabri Moksham is where we learn about total surrender and knowing that God has everything under His control and there is nothing under our control. However you can control God with pure devotion and love.
Realisation of God's power, that it is sufficient to take care of the world, and that we are not supposed to do anything but keep faith, have patience, be kind, love God, and attain moksha or salvation.
You don't have to try to find God, but keep faith and belief, and most importantly, love God to the extent that God will come find you.
Shabri wasn't looking at Lord Rama as a vanvasi or someone exiled from his kingdom; she wasn't bothered about any aspect other than attaining moksha or salvation. All she was looking at was her Lord Ram, her God, for whom she had been waiting for so long. She wanted to offer Ram the best she had at that time, offering half-eaten jujube (ber) to her Raja Ram was her way of showing how much she loved Him. She answered all the questions that were asked by Lord Ram, providing all the information, while being single-mindedly focused on attaining moksha.
Sabri's devotion and love for Lord Ram made it possible for her to attain moksha.
