Today makes 18 months sober!!!

Another reason we doubt is simply because we forget. Often, I feel like my short-term memory with the Lord is embarrassing. I can go from praise to desperation in a matter of minutes. The Lord has proven Himself faithful in my life over and over, yet as deadlines loom, as I wait for a diagnosis, as unwanted loneliness becomes part of my life, as anxiety and tensions mount and the waiting periods stretch, my knees shake, my eyes become water fountains, and the world becomes a scary place about to swallow me up. Jesus tells me to not be afraid, that He has overcome the world, but what I tell myself is that the world is certainly overcoming me.

❤️❤️❤️ I’m more amazed with the Bible than I have ever been . I’m very thankful for passages that stick out too me, like the one down below. Maybe its Gods way of speaking to me, but either way I wanted to share my reading from today.

“But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: that the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. Sorry for such a long pause of silence on my page, however I want to thank all of my new followers! On February 6th, I will be 14 months sober. For those of you who are in early recovery, hang in there! One day at a time! When I say time flies by and things get better, they do! Put your trust and time into Jesus. He’s waiting to hear from you, I promise! Take care everyone!

This was part of my nightly devotional that I try to make routine, but I felt the need to share two different things that I personally struggle(d) with :

“Then come ADDICTIONS, old habits that die hard. Addiction is an evil spirit with many forms. People can become addicted to anything—drugs, alcohol, work, food, people, even ministry. The world tries to deal with addictions without Christ’s help. That doesn’t work! You have to surrender addictions to God and ask for His help to get rid of them and get back on track with His good plans for you.

Un-FORGIVENESS brings torment, yet people hang on to it anyway. When we won’t pardon someone for a wrong, it opens the entryway for our own torment. As Jesus told us, we must forgive others if we want God to forgive us. Unforgiveness disconnects us from Him, which is torment. Forgiveness demonstrates that we love Him and live in His love.”

Sorry it has been so long since I’ve made a post. Work consumes me here lately , but I’m thankful for my job. I’ve got to save up all I can in order to get my life back in order , and more stable. I miss my kids terribly and I want them back with me. Or at least be within reach of them, and not miles and months away! Today makes 11 months sober for me.
