New Liver New Life for Rachel

New Liver New Life for Rachel Great news! Rachel has successfully undergone her transplant surgery! The Pinkhasov Family This is what happened to Rachel. She needs a new liver immediately.

Thank you to everyone for all your support, love, and prayers, and of course, our forever gratitude to her donor. The liver is prone to autoimmune disorders—a situation that occurs when the body’s immune system gets confused and attacks healthy cells. Starting with autoimmune hepatitis, she now has primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). No lifestyle modifications can prevent or treat it. Rachel has a family who loves her beyond measure, but none of them are potential donors. Before her illness stole her plans and dreams, she hoped to become a dentist. She was studying to take the exams to go to dental school. Her illness and frailty going forward may never allow that dream to happen, but with the help of a donor she can live a full life of love and service for many years to come. Her blood type is O; a donor could be positive or negative. Her care is being done at New York Presbyterian/Weill-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Can you help? If so, please get in touch right way. Potential donors please visit https://www.nyp.org/livingdonorliver
