Pastors falling and dying while on the pulpit ... NOT A GOOD SIGN...
🪔Pastoring people isn't a death sentence.
🪔Fast with caution.
🪔Go for medical checkups if need be.
🪔You do not need to organize church services around the clock.
🪔Create time for vacation and rest.
🪔Pastoring does not exclude you from medication.
🪔You are not the savior of the Church, serve within your ability.
🪔If you have health issues or red flags, take a break and get treated, enjoy bed rest... that is what Jesus would want you to do.
🪔Don't pretend to be perfect to the Body of Christ, let them also pray for you and water you.
🪔Accept that the Church of God will march on without you.
🪔Pastoring does not make you less vulnerable than the members of your church... if you don't take care of yourself, you will be hit.
🪔Don't be over spiritual with your health issues, eat when necessary, fast... don't run 40days services day and night fasting, you may collapse and die.
🪔You are human like everyone else, ask for help when you can. Ask someone else to take the pulpit, sit and enjoy the service.
🪔You also have personal challenges as humans, do the needful when you also need someone's shoulder. You are not God.
🪔The church is a family, you are part of that family and not the head of the family. When you run it as a CEO of a business, you will not be able to stop or slow down your pace and speak to people as one of them.
🪔Next week, delegate assignments to the church, and ask different sections in church for their views, opinions, and thoughts about scriptures… make it a family place.
🪔There is no law asking you to stand teaching, rearrange the chairs, and sit amongst people teaching. Save some strength, it is wisdom.
🪔You have been preaching year after year, let the church on their review scriptures, sit, and enjoy the harmony among brethren.
🪔A pastor may experience high blood pressure… if you see the red flags, dont stop praying... but keep the prayer going as you head to the hospital, not to church service.
🪔If you feel dizzy and faint during a fast, take a sip of fluid and check your blood pressure, sugar level test, etc.
🪔If you wake up sick on a Sunday morning, please call in sick. Let the church pray for you while you head to the hospital.
🪔Be bold to ask them to pray for you.
🪔Jesus Christ would love to see you among them healthy. He would love to see you strong.
🪔The flesh is prone to sickness, stress, and ailments. Jesus knows that you know what to do.
🪔Be glad to receive church members with baskets of fruits after you have missed service, it shows the love of God through them. It doesn't reduce God's grace upon you.
🪔If you have a consistent headache, it's not a sin... check your health status. You are human and it is not a slap on your salvation.
🪔Don't follow foolishly till you slump and fall on the pulpit... if your fathers said that they never had pain relief medications nor visited hospitals, please ask them for their diet plan and lifestyle... do I tell you that many sneak out for foreign medical attention?
🪔If you like herbs, enjoy them for the nourishment of your body.
Salvation is from a heart of love to us, it is not a punishment.
