🎉🏋️♂️👩⚕️ Lower back pain is a common issue among athletes and active individuals. As a sports massage therapist, I often see clients who have experienced discomfort in their lower back due to a variety of reasons.
👉 Here are some common triggers and tips on how to avoid them:
👉 Poor posture can put added strain on your lower back. Make sure you maintain good posture throughout the day to take the pressure off.
👉 Lifting heavy weights with improper technique can also cause lower back pain. Consider working with a personal trainer to learn the correct form.
👉 Sitting or standing for extended periods of time can put additional pressure on your lower back as well. Taking regular breaks to stretch and move around can be helpful.
👉 Want to reduce lower back pain through stretching? Here are some techniques to try:
👉 Knee-to-Chest Stretch: Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Gently bring one knee up to your chest and hold for 10-15 seconds before switching to the other leg. Repeat this movement for 3-5 times on each leg.
👉 Child's Pose: Start on your hands and knees, with your hands shoulder-width apart and your knees hip-width apart. Lower your glutes to your heels and reach your hands as far forward as you can. Hold this position for 15-20 seconds.
👉 Cobra Stretch: Lie face down on a mat with your hands positioned directly under your shoulders. Push through your hands to lift your chest up and off the floor. Hold this position for 10-15 seconds before lowering back down.
👉 Let me know if you have any questions or want to book a sports massage to help alleviate lower back pain. I'm always here to help! 👩⚕️🏋️♂️🎉
