Nursing Care. Provides skilled nursing care when needed and performs specific treatments as required or ordered in the Medical/Service Plan and Nursing Care Plan.
Observes and trains staff to aseptic techniques as required.
Trains or directs training of support staff regarding the participant’s illness, procedures, treatments, including self-care, prevention, and health maintenance.
Performs initial and ongoing client/participant assessments.
Performs initial and ongoing staff skills assessments.
Interview and consultations with client/participant, Family, Representative, other agents.
Medical Documents & Reports. Oversees all staff documentation and records, ensures records are maintained accurately, legible, and concise, in accordance with DDA regulations.
Oversees staff performance and record keeping; assists staff in any way needed to perform duties as required in the location of the client.
Facilitates as needed staff meetings, client/participant conferences, and takes an active part in planning client/participant care.
Provides discharge instructions to client/participant and family.
Presents self in a neat, attractive, and professional manner consistent with dress code.
Organizes and manages time efficiently.
Demonstrates self-directed and responsible behavior.
Initiates activities to improve skills.
Education:
RN
Other Qualifying Requirements:
Minimum age of 25 years old
Possess a valid Maryland and/or Compact Registered Nurse license.
Successfully complete the DDA RN Case Manager/Delegating Nurse (CM/DN) Orientation
Be active on the DDA registry of DD RN CM/DNs.
Complete the online HRST Rater and Reviewer training.
Attend mandatory DDA trainings.
Attend a minimum of two (2) DDA-provided nurse quarterly meetings per fiscal year.
Be current in First Aid and CPR certification.
Pass a criminal background investigation.
Possess a valid driver’s license if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to provide services.
Have automobile insurance for all automobiles that are owned, leased, and/or hired and used in the provision of services.
Good verbal communication skills; communicates well in spoken and written English.
1-9 Documentation (Authorized to work in the United States)
Social Security (Social Security Card as ID).
TB or Chest X-ray within 12 months
Hepatitis B series/declination
At least Two (2) letters of Reference (must be in good standing).
Verification of past employment History
Experience:
In the State of Maryland as RN with 2 year minimum of general and emergency nursing care
Supervision and training of subordinates in a healthcare facility, minimum of 1 year
Business management skills helpful; assist administrator with daily business operations as needed and assigned; including record maintenance and management.
Delegation of medication administration and feeding via G-tube.
