For years, you thought you were just bad at adulting.

Messy house? Lazy.
Always late? Undisciplined.
Exhausted and overwhelmed? Not trying hard enough.

But here's what actually happened:
When your peers were absorbing organizational skills from watching their parents manage a household, plan their time, and balance rest with productivity—your ADHD brain was somewhere else entirely. Racing ahead or drifting away.

You didn't need more willpower. You needed someone to explicitly teach you:
• How to break tasks into steps your brain can follow
• How to estimate time when your brain has no internal clock
• How to build rest into your day instead of crashing after burnout

And then—this is the part most people miss—you needed ADHD-adapted ways to actually USE those skills. Because knowing what to do and being able to do it consistently with ADHD? Two very different things.

That's the gap I help women close.

If you're parenting a teen with ADHD, this might sound familiar…🫣

"How are you ever going to take care of yourself if you can't get out of bed on time and keep your room straight? This place is a mess. I've told you a hundred times to clean it up. You better figure this out by the time you finish high school or …!"

Other kids seem to figure it out, but with this child it just feels different. Like you're parenting blindfolded with one arm tied behind your back.

Of course you're concerned for their future. You love your child and want them to succeed. But you're just so exhausted with trying to get them to “adult”.

👉🏻Here's the thing:

This teen isn't responding to the constant tension and yelling. They need more than frazzled parents and threats of phone confiscation to learn how to take care of themselves (no guilt, no shame - parenting is tough, even more so a kid with ADHD).

I coach ADHD teens to:

✅ Keep their schoolwork organized so they don't lose or forget to hand in important assignments.

✅ Structure homework time so they stop getting lost in the weeds, giving up too soon.

✅ Feed their bodies and brains, especially when medication interferes with appetite - so they feel more capable and energized.

✅ Gauge the optimal amount of exercise for their body - so they have the brain capacity to stay focused on boring tasks.

My JDHD-Junior coaching program brings together my 3 decades of experience as a teacher and ADHD coach to give ADHD teens the essential life-skills to effectively and confidently manage their time, their tasks and themselves.

If you want your ADHD teen to become an adult with essential life-skills for confidence and success — book a free 20-min call.

🎁 Black November Special! Set of 4 coaching sessions for NIS 1450 instead of 1600.

The Real Reason ADHD Brains Struggle to get Started...

It’s not about planners or forcing willpower. It's about learning what actually sparks activation for ADHDers, so that starting becomes easier, calmer, and even kind of fun.

That’s exactly what I teach inside The ADHD Quick Start Plan.

I’m Alana Stern — an ADHD coach and a Jewish woman who also has ADHD. I’ve helped hundreds of women who thought they were “lazy” realize their brains just work differently.

The ADHD Quick Start Plan is a short, practical self-paced mini-course for women with ADHD who are tired of living in last-minute mode.

In under an hour, you’ll learn how to start faster, with less stress and more ease — and build real skills in your ability to begin.

You’ll use a real task from your own to-do list (something you’ve been avoiding) and walk through a simple four-step plan in real time:

1️⃣DECIDE: Choose your task.

2️⃣DECODE: Figure out which ingredient is missing.

3️⃣DO: Mix in an ADHD-friendly strategy and start right away.

4️⃣DONE: You’ll finish the course having already started something that matters to you, and you’ll walk away with an “Activation Recipe” you can use any time you feel stuck.

So if you want to:

👉🏻do “the things” but somehow, you never get started

👉🏻stop relying on deadlines, adrenaline and crisis, because living in last-minute mode takes a toll on your health, relationships and peace of mind

👉🏻learn about how your brain works and use that insight to make starting effortless…

The reason you don’t have enough energy to care for your family and yourself the way you want to isn’t because you’re lazy.
It’s because you’re leaking energy on a thousand tiny decisions a day.
“Should I go for a walk now or later?”
“When will I get to that pile of dishes?”
“Do I start this task or check my messages first?”

But when you learn how to simplify and systemize the daily stuff, you stop the leaks.
You’ll have more calm.
More presence with your kids.
More energy for work that actually lights you up.
And more time for what you want to do — not just what you have to do.
That’s not laziness.
That’s wisdom.
✨ Ready to stop leaking energy and build habits that work for your ADHD and your life?

What a great feeling to open my email after Rosh Hashanah and see that I've been accepted as an accredited certified EFT practitioner!

It only took two years longer than expected but I believe so deeply in the effectiveness of this technique that it was worth pushing through to the end.

👉What does this mean for you?

Living with ADHD in a world not built for your brain means carrying a constant undercurrent of stress, shame, and stuckness that clouds your focus, drains your energy, and makes even simple tasks feel impossible.

Plus, when emotions run high, your brain’s planning and doing systems temporarily go offline. For ADHDers, who feel everything more intensely, it’s even harder to access these skills we’re told to “just use.”

EFT Tapping helps quiet your "feeling brain," making space for your "thinking/doing brain" to come back online.

I can teach you how to reclaim your energy, focus and flow, so that you can tap into what's really possible for you.

⏳For a short time, I’m offering EFT Tapping sessions at a reduced rate:

NIS 300 + VAT / USD 110 for a 60-min Zoom session
(Usually NIS 450 / USD 130)

Available until October 31, 2025, or until my calendar fills.

Spots are limited with the chaggim coming—DM me to book now if you want in.

And if that feels like too much pressure in this busy holiday time, you can always purchase a session (or as many as you want) and book for after the chaggim. DM me if you're interested in this option.

I'm struggling to come up with anything eloquent this year for a New Year's wish. I think my buddy, chat GPT, has hijacked my ability to independently express myself. But please know that the intention is there and I'm wishing you a [FILL IN THE BLANKS WITH WHATEVER YOU WISH FOR YOURSELF] new year.

Right now, I bet there's something that feels impossible for you to tackle. Like planning a 4-meal Yom Tov menu when you're hosting your mother-in-law and put-together sister in law. Just thinking about them seeing the state of your kitchen makes you want to hide forever.

And no matter how many times you promise yourself, "Next time, I'll start cooking earlier", urgent fires keep crowding out your good intentions.

And so you freeze, flee, and find yourself doom-scrolling. And feeling ashamed of your lack of self-discipline.

You've tried the pretty planner. Timers, Pomodoro, habit trackers, accountability buddies... and caffeine, so much caffeine!

And still, your brain keeps getting hijacked by emotions.

THAT's the reason you can't get your stuff done.

👉🏻Your "feeling brain" is blocking your "doing" brain.👈🏻

Living with ADHD can trigger intense emotions, like shame, frustration, and despair. When that happens, practical skills like planning, starting, deciding, get pushed aside. It’s normal. It happens to everyone when emotions are big enough.

But for you, ignoring your emotions to focus on the practical is a day-to-day struggle.

You're not lazy or broken. You’re just wired differently than 80% of the people.

When you learn how to give the feeling part of your brain time to settle, you create space for level-headedness, focus and follow-through to re-emerge—enough to choose the next doable step.

This is a big part of what I help my clients to do.

If you’re stuck in overwhelm, spinning in indecision, or panicking about how little you’ve started…

🪄 I literally have a magic spell for you!

Its called EFT Tapping and it's my #1 go-to tool for "settling your feeling brain" . Think of it as sweeping the pathway, so that you can easily access the execution tools housed in your "doing brain".

And once you learn this powerful method for yourself, you'll get calm, focused and motivated within minutes!

Let me teach you how to get back in the driver's seat!

What an honor to present yesterday at the conference on how to be financially smart with ADHD. For the third year in a row, Rifka Lebowitz created and organized this fantastically run an incredibly helpful conference at Nefesh B'Nefesh . I loved the practical tips from Stefanie Levit s talk on budgeting, and of course if you didn't pose in a photo with Lesley Kaplan , were you even really there? So good to catch up with many other colleagues and friends, and especially delightful to meet some past clients in real life!

I’m honored and excited to be speaking today about ADHD and money at the Living Financially Smarter In Israel Conference. If you didn’t grab a ticket in time, no worries. I still want to share something with you...

Right now, money might feel like a monster under the bed. You’re feeling stressed out about it and avoid it. Then you try a little retail therapy to ease the anxiety and make yourself feel better. But that quick fix often backfires, causing conflict at home and even more anxiety.

I know, because that was me a few years back.

The turning point came when I stopped ignoring my bank account and started tracking my spending. Almost immediately, I felt more in control.

👉So here are 3 ADHD-Friendly Money Moves I Made to Get & Stay on Top of Our Family Finances:

1️⃣ Weekly money check-ins, before Shabbat. Friday became my ritual for tracking spending. The built-in Shabbat deadline gave me structure I could stick with.
2️⃣ Goodbye, 1-Click. I disabled "1-Click-Buy" on Amazon and Kindle. That one small tweak slowed down my impulse purchases, and it worked.
3️⃣ Automation = liberation. I automated every recurring bill I could. No more late fees. No more "ADHD tax".

Oh, and I didn’t do it alone. I hired someone to guide me and hold me accountable—until I could handle it solo. Because...

👉“If you spend your life trying to be good at everything, you will never be great at anything.”👈

And things got so much better.

✅Less tension in my marriage.
✅The relief of finally feeling like I could "adult" this one area.
✅More energy for the things I actually care about.

Because that’s the whole point, isn’t it? Peace of mind and freedom to focus on what matters most.
And I want that for you, too.

If you're tired of doing it all on your own - managing finances, work, home, the daily juggle of planning and time management, plus the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of your family...You don't have to keep struggling.

That’s what my JDHD coaching is all about: giving you the structure, support, and accountability to build systems that actually work for your brain and your life.

Dm me if that's the kind of support you're looking for.
