π¨ MEN: YOUR PROSTATE HEALTH MATTERS MORE THAN YOU THINK.
I've noticed something in my practice: men will push through symptoms for months β sometimes years β before coming in. By then, what was manageable has become complex.
This is your reminder. The strong, silent type isn't a health strategy.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PROSTATE HEALTH:
π THE NUMBERS
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in American men. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed in their lifetime. The good news: when caught early, the 5-year survival rate is nearly 100%.
π¬ WHEN TO START SCREENING
PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) blood test is the cornerstone of early detection.
β’ Average risk: Start discussions at age 50
β’ Higher risk (Black men, family history): Start at age 40-45
β’ I individualize this for every patient
β οΈ SYMPTOMS THAT NEED ATTENTION NOW
β’ Frequent urination, especially at night
β’ Difficulty starting or stopping urine flow
β’ Weak or interrupted urine stream
β’ Blood in urine or semen
β’ Pain in lower back, hips, or pelvis
β’ Erectile dysfunction
π©Ί TESTOSTERONE & MEN'S VITALITY
Low testosterone is increasingly common and significantly impacts quality of life. Energy, mood, libido, muscle mass, weight β all affected. This is diagnosable and treatable.
Men β your health is not optional. The people who love you need you around.
