Life is beautiful, diverse!
Everyone desires to have appreciation of healthy, pleasurable, everlasting life. But it may become painful, miserable with the effect of various incurable diseases.
*".....জন্মিলে মরিতে হবে,*
*অমর কে কোথা কবে,*
*চিরস্থির কবে নীর, হায় রে, জীবন-নদে?...."*
Means -
*If you are born, you have to die,*
*Who is immortal? Where is the immortality? "*
These lines of poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt about life and death is absolutely true. Immortality is impossible. But this intense pain and suffering must be alleviated by Hospice Care, a holistic attention to such incurable state of life. Hospice concept has been developed in application of modern pain and palliative medicine under the umbrella of caring souls.
*We are glad to communicate that Hospice India is going to initiate it's first breath at Panchpota, Garia with the help of innumerable beautiful minds from all walks of life. Our OPD block will be inaugurated on 28th July by Renowned veteran physician Professor Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee .*
*The pre-opening eye check-up camp will be held on 23rd June in collaboration with the Rotary Dakshin Barasat Eye Hospital and Ramakrishna Healthcare Private Limited.* Cataract surgery along with other associated eye care shall be provided free of cost. The Camp will be conducted with august presence of honorable councilor Mr. Jayanta Sengupta.
Initially, we will start outdoor based palliative treatment at Hospice India. We will also start three ancillary units - a fair price medicine shop, a pathological laboratory and a multi-specialty polyclinic along with Hospice India to make the palliative treatment more smooth and successful.
We will start IPD services in future as early as possible. Paying gratitude and regards to all beautiful minds, we request you to continue your kind hearted cooperation so that Hospice India may become a full-fledged complete Hospice Care Centre in the heart of Bengal in near future.

জীবন বৈচিত্র্যময়, সুন্দর!
আনন্দোচ্ছল, সুস্থ্য, দীর্ঘজীবন উপভোগের আকাঙ্ক্ষা সবার কিন্তু নানান দুরারোগ্য, অনারোগ্য রোগে এই জীবন হয়ে ওঠে দুঃসহ যন্ত্রণার ও অমর্যাদাকর।

জীবন-মৃত্যু সম্পর্কে কবি মাইকেল মধুসূদন দত্তের এই বক্তব্য চরম সত্য। অমরত্ব অসম্ভব কিন্তু হসপিস্ কেয়ারের মাধ্যমে এই দুঃসহ অপরিসীম যন্ত্রণার উপশম সম্ভব। আধুনিক উপশম চিকিৎসা বিদ্যার প্রয়োগে জীবনের এরূপ চরম সময়ে প্রয়োজনীয় সামগ্রিক কেয়ারই হসপিস্ কেয়ার।
সমাজের বিভিন্ন স্তরের অসংখ্য মানুষের সহযোগিতায়, বিগত ছয় বছরের অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রমে গড়িয়ার পাঁচপোতায় এমনই এক উপশম চিকিৎসা কেন্দ্র *হসপিস্ ইন্ডিয়া* গড়ে উঠছে। *আগামী ২৮শে জুলাই তার আউটডোর ব্লকের শুভ উদ্বোধন। উদ্বোধন করবেন স্বনামধন্য চিকিৎসক প্রফেসর সুকুমার মুখার্জি মহাশয় এবং আগামী ২৩শে জুন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে প্রাক্ উদ্বোধনী চক্ষু পরীক্ষা শিবির।* রোটারী দক্ষিণ বারাসাত চক্ষু হাসপাতাল ও রামকৃষ্ণ হেলথকেয়ার প্রাইভেট লিমিটেডের সহযোগিতায় এই শিবিরে চক্ষুরোগ চিকিৎসার পাশাপাশি বিনামূল্যে ছানি অপারেশন ও বিনামূল্যে চশমা প্রদান করা হবে। শিবিরে পৌরহিত্য করবেন স্থানীয় পৌরপিতা শ্রী জয়ন্ত সেনগুপ্ত মহাশয়।
হসপিস্ ইন্ডিয়ায় প্রাথমিকভাবে আমরা আউটডোর ভিত্তিক উপশম চিকিৎসা শুরু করব। উপশম চিকিৎসার সহযোগী ইউনিট হিসাবে একই সঙ্গে আমরা একটি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ফার্মেসী, একটি প্যাথলজিক্যাল ল্যাবরেটরি ও একটি মাল্টি স্পেশালিটি পলিক্লিনিক চালু করব। উপশম চিকিৎসা ছাড়াও অন্যান্য বিভিন্ন রোগের আউটডোর ভিত্তিক চিকিৎসায় এলাকার দুস্থ মানুষদের সাহায্য আমাদের উল্লেখযোগ্য লক্ষ্য।
পরবর্তী পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে পরিষেবার কলেবর বৃদ্ধির পাশাপাশি পর্যায়ক্রমে আমরা ইনডোর পরিষেবা চালু করব। আপনাদের সহানুভূতি ও সহযোগিতায় অদূর ভবিষ্যতে হসপিস্ ইন্ডিয়া এই বাংলার বুকে একটি পূর্ণাঙ্গ হসপিস্ কেয়ার সেন্টার হিসেবে গড়ে উঠবে, এটাই আমাদের প্রার্থনা।
