Post surgery support ! 🙌
Over the last few years I’ve had some really encouraging results supporting people after surgery — particularly with ankles, knees and shoulders.
Once the tissues have healed, gentle myofascial work can help soften and mobilize scar tissue, ease tight surrounding fascia, and support a greater sense of freedom in movement.
It’s always beautiful to see the body respond when those deeper tissues are given time, care and the right kind of support. 🌿
Around 6–8 weeks after surgery, once the tissues have generally healed and with appropriate medical guidance, gentle myofascial release can be a really supportive way to help the body continue its recovery.
Working with the fascia around a scar can help:
• improve mobility and range of movement
• reduce pulling or tightness around the scar
• support circulation and lymphatic flow
• ease surrounding muscle tension
• help settle ongoing inflammation
• encourage the tissues to move and glide more freely again
Fascia is a continuous web throughout the body, so when one area becomes restricted it can sometimes affect movement or comfort in other places too.
Gentle, respectful bodywork can help soften and rehydrate these tissues, supporting the body to find more ease and freedom again.
If you have an older surgery site or scar that still feels tight or restricted, your body may simply be asking for a little extra support in its healing journey. 🌿
