WHAT IS FERTILE WINDOW

We’re talking about the 'fertile window’ ..The days in a woman’s menstrual cycle when pregnancy is possible. The ‘fertile window’ depends on the length of the menstrual cycle, which varies among women.

The ‘fertile window’ is the day an egg is released from the o***y (ovulation) and the five days before then. Having s*x during this time gives you the best chance of getting pregnant.

Pregnancy is technically only possible if you have s*x during the five days before ovulation or on the day of ovulation. But the most fertile days are the three days leading up to and including ovulation. Having s*x during this time gives you the best chance of getting pregnant.

WHY AM I NOT OVULATING

When a person is not ovulating, they cannot get pregnant because there is no egg to be fertilized. If a person has irregular ovulation, they will have fewer chances to conceive because they ovulate less frequently.

CAUSES OF IRREGULAR OVULATION

•Abnormally low levels of progesterone
•Lack of fertile cervical mucus
•Shorter luteal phase
•Thinning or over-thickening of the endometrium (the lining of the uterus where a fertilized egg needs to implant)

People with irregular ovulation usually have irregular periods. Some do not get their cycles at all.

If your cycles fall within the normal range of 21-35 days, but the length of your cycles varies widely from month to month, that could also be a sign of ovulatory dysfunction. For example, if one month your period is 22 days and the next it's 35 days, the variations between cycles could signal an ovulation problem.

If your cycles are shorter than 21 days, or longer than 36 days, you may have irregular ovulation
