Village Power, thanks to Médecins Sans Frontières / MSF (Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)), installed solar home systems to light up 7 rural health facilities in May and June 2020 as a -19 response to unreliable electricity supply in Arua and Adjumani districts. The lighting and power provided by Village Power solar home systems will make patients’ stays at the health centers better and facilitate the work of the medical staff. The movement restrictions imposed in response to the -19 pandemic has highlighted the need for increased presence of energy service providers in the last mile. Village Power is proud to be one of these providers bringing light and power to last mile homes, healthcare facilities, and businesses.

Very excited to welcome Simon Tusiime to our Village Power Uganda leadership as Head of Finance and Administration

We are very happy to have had Mr. Simon Peter Tusiime join us as Head of Finance and Administration in February. Simon is a corporate finance, audit and advisory senior management executive with more than 10 years’ experience.
Mr. Tusiime is passionate about expanding access to solar in off-grid communities. He says “I am excited to work in a company that directly and positively impacts the lives of its customers and I would like to see many more Ugandans use clean renewable energy as a source of energy. Power a School Campaign:
Village Power supplied and installed over 120 Solar Systems in local schools in Uganda’s Rakai District in partnership with Empowering the Future Foundation’s (https://www.eff-foundation.com/) Power a School campaign. These systems bring light (at least 6 bulbs) into the local schools and allow charging of small devices on site. Access to solar power will allow students to extend their study hours after dark and therefore improve their academic performance.
