An evening celebration at Maheshwar Yoga on its first Anniversary!
With the blessings of our Guru Shri Shri Maharajji and Mahesh Bhattacharyya my great grandfather, Maheshwar Yoga completes a full year this month.I feel grateful and thankful to each and every student, coming from different parts of the world be it Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Finland, UK, Poland, India, Turkey, Spain, Lithuania and many other countries, coming together for Yoga! A big thank you to all our friends in Basel for participating in the celebrations.
The day warrants mentioning about the name Maheshwar - this name is a tribute to my late great grandfather Mahesh Bhattacharyya, a philanthropist and founder of one of oldest Homoeopathic firms in India and his father, the late Ishwar Bhattacharyya. Hence the word is coined as Maheshwar which is one of the many names of God Shiva - the Lord and Master of Yoga!
The selfless spirit and indomitable strength of my great grandfather and continuous support of my husband, Arko Chatterjee has always inspired me and led me to finally establishing the Yoga community in a small way.
I pray that this multicultural community continues to thrive at Maheshwar Yoga. As they say "Yoga is not about touching the toes, it is what you learn on the way down".
