English conversation for business and travel. https://suessupportservices.weebly.com I am a helpful, kind, practical ex-nurse offering support, care, companionship and help to people in their own homes in the Bern area of Switzerland. If you or your family are elderly and want to remain independent but need gentle home-help, or if you are working and juggling a busy family life with young children and just need an extra pair of very competent, safe hands, then Sue's Support Services is here to help. Maybe you've had an injury, or mental health problem and need short-term support until you're back on your feet, or maybe you have a new baby and just need some experienced support until you adjust to your new lifestyle. We can meet up and see how I can make your life easier. All delivered in native English. I also offer English conversation for people wanting to become more confident before they travel to English-speaking countries, for professionals wanting to improve their business English, and for medial professionals wanting to improve their medical English.

Key tips to keeping your babies cool in this heat:
1. Keep under 6-months-old children completely out of direct sunlight (sun-cream is not recommended on babies under 6-months} Parasols over their buggy are great as they provide shade but also allow air flow.
2. Light-weight, loose-fitting & ideally natural fiber clothing is cooler, with a sun hat and sunglasses.
3. Breastfed babies under 6-months-old shouldn't need extra water, but might want to breastfeed more often. Babies over 6-months-old might want a little extra cooled, boiled water to drink, in addition to their normal milk regime.
4. A play in a cool, shaded, paddling pool or a cool bath before bed will also help to keep them comfortable.
5. Keeping their bedroom cool (between 16-20 degrees is ideal), with minimal, light-weight bed clothing (or just a nappy!). A fan circulating air in the room can help, but don't aim the fan directly on the child, as you can risk them becoming dehydrated.
Happy and safe summer to you all. www.suessupportservices.weebly.com

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is wasted."

This powerful message from Aesop couldn't be more important and is worth remembering and acting upon, not just today on World Kindness Day, but every day. Taking a moment to reflect on the importance of being kind and then acting upon it has numerous health benefits for all involved.

HealthFirst Director, Dr Mecky McNeil explains, "Giving kindness is simple, free, positive and healthy. It boosts mood and increases self-esteem, empathy and compassion and lowers stress. Kindness connects us to others. Kindness is contagious!"

Celebrating their 25th anniversary, The World Kindness Movement who created World Kindness Day encourages us to share our acts of kindness on their website and highlights inspiring acts of everyday kindness in the "Kindness Jar".

We'd love to hear about acts of kindness, so please share and let's add our voices to the movement

Spring is on it's way....How wonderful to feel the warmth of the sun on our bodies, and to see the daffodils and snowdrops starting to come through! My favourite time of year. New beginnings for life, and I'm really excited to start next week supporting a Bern family with their newborn baby. Such a wonderful, but potentially overwhelming and exhausting time of our lives, made easier with family and friends near by. Sue's Support Services can help offer support, kindness and practical help, in your own home, during these significant life events, or whenever the need is there. I'm here to make these times easier.

Let's just make the most of life, have fun doing what makes our heart sing, and tolerate with grace the things in life that we have to do in-between those heart singing moments.
I wish you all a happy, healthy and fun-filled 2023, make the most of it, and create new adventures and loads of fun memories.
