Markus did it. 🏁

243 km, 15,135 m of altitude, 7 days of trails, companionship, type 1 diabetes and with the support of mylife Loop powered by mylife CamAPS FX . 💪 Crossing the finish line today hit different. 🎉

💬 Markus: "Glucose management was not easy last night. I started the day thinking I'm looking forward to finishing this adventure. My feet hurt so bad that I had to take a pain killer. But even if my body was weak after 6.5 days of running, Peter helped me not only mentally, but also by carrying my bag pack downhill and mylife Loop kept supporting me. Our mind stayed sharp, and together, we raced until the finish line. Thank you all for your support. Let’s keep doing what we love: running.'

Markus and Peter faced fog, heat, lows, highs, sore feet and big climbs – but also joy, support, and beautiful moments.

This week wasn’t about T1D diabetes. But about overcoming, teamwork and proving to oneself that T1D doesn’t decide - you do. Thanks to everyone who followed along!

Day 4: Check ✅

Today’s path led Markus and Peter, TAR runners n*138, from Klosters to Gotschnagrat!

💡What has been the most difficult aspect so far?
💬 Markus: 'The most difficult has been not thinking about what comes next, to stay in the moment, focusing on the actual stage race.'

💡Have you encountered any surprises during the race?
💬 Markus: 'Yesterday, we were actually faster than expected, and I think I forgot/lost one running short and a T-shirt. Or maybe I gave it to the laundry. Don't know :D'

💡What’s been your strategy when something doesn’t go according to plan?
💬 Markus: 'We don't have one. We go spontaneously and try to make the best out of it.'

Stage 3 was no joke – 49.5km, +3.314Hm climb, and enough switchbacks to make your head spin.

💬 Markus, TAR runner n*138: “This morning, I felt like a baby, not fully recovered, but it was necessary to re-learn walking before we start running.”

They hit the halfway point of the race and spirits are still in surprisingly good shape – helped along by beers, alpine cheese at the checkpoint 😄 and with the support of mylife Loop powered by mylife CamAPS FX !

It is now time to refuel, reboot, and tape the toes!

🏔️ +1'450 m elevation gain
⬇️ -2'350 m elevation loss
👣 Mud, rocks, sun – all in a day’s run.

💬 Markus, TAR runner n*138: “How do you eat an elephant? Start with the first bite and go for it, bite by bite!”

Toughest moment? That final uphill switchback that just... never... ended...
