As some of you know, I’ve been staying at an Ayurvedic center (Himveda) for the last three months—starting with a 34-day Panchakarma, then staying on to study Ayurveda and work in the clinic.
It’s been about a month and a half since I finished the Panchakarma, and I feel like now is a good time to share a bit about my experience. It was truly transformative, in ways I couldn’t have expected. The process works on so many levels—not just the physical body, but the whole of my being.
I waited a few weeks before writing this because, honestly, the real impact only hit me after the treatment ended. My doctor had warned me I might feel tired afterward, but I didn’t expect it to be so intense. Even now, as I write this, my body still feels like it’s recovering.
It’s like I did a full, deep clean of my inner "house." Panchakarma gave me the chance to clear out old imbalances and rebuild my health from the foundations up. Since then, my body has been slowly but steadily restoring itself, bringing more energy, better digestion (agni), and an overall sense of vitality.
I’ve been surprised by how slow this process is. That’s why I can’t stress enough how important it is to rest properly afterward. If you rush back into normal life, your body might not take it and you would probably miss the subtle but profound shifts that were meant to happen. The classical texts are underlining the importance of post-panchakarma care and I really understand why now.
Because that’s the thing, the benefits of Panchakarma aren’t always obvious, especially if you’re not used to tuning into your body and mind. Though, the changes are quiet but undeniable: my mind feels clearer, my emotions more at peace, and my connection to my energy (prana), stronger than ever.
I still feel like there’s more healing to come, and I’m excited to see how things unfold in the next few weeks. All in all, it’s been a beautiful, transformative journey.
I’d absolutely recommend Panchakarma to anyone—whether you’re dealing with health issues or just feel like you need a full-body-mind reset. It’s an amazing gift that Ayurveda has given to the world and a great chance to start anew.
With love, Vincent
