Your therapist
Saskia has done almost 200 treatments (clients aged 10-75), both male and female, athletes and non-athletes.
Treatments vary from back, neck, head, shoulder, hip, feet and leg pains, to injury prevention in various types of athletes (a.o. running, biking, taekwondo, tennis, swimming, yoga and Salsa dancers) and rehabilitation after operations and injuries.
Treated people include clients with migraines, hernias, torticollis, arthritis, osteoporosis, sciatica, tennis elbow, scoliosis, hyper-mobility, urticaria, broken bones, implants, trapped shoulder tendons, diabetes, fused vertebrae, cesareans, urethra, hypo/hyper glycemia, greater trochanteric pain syndrome and tendonitis.
Massage and stretching techniques are used in combination with various physio and ostheo techniques, such as:
- NMT (neuromuscular techniques): trigger/reflex points and deep friction.
- STR (soft tissue release).
- MET (muscle energy techniques): PIR (post isometric relation) and RI (reciprocal inhibition).
- PR (positional release).
The goal is to have every client leave feeling relaxed and well informed about what was done, why and how they can prevent it from possibly happening again.
A first appointment will always start with a (free) 5-10 minute survey and chat before beginning the treatment. This is to ensure client satisfaction by meeting expectations.
After treatments, possible findings will be shown on an ipad in order to visualise, understand and teach the client about their body. This is done using a great 3D app called Visible Body which shows a.o. attachment points of muscles and their actions.
If needed, recommended stretches or strengthening exercises will be sent afterwards via Whats App or email, that can then be done at home.
Saskia’s goal is to have as few as possible clients returning with the same issue... because that means the treatment worked :-)
