Science, friends, and innovation characterized this year's European Congress for Ceramic Implant Dentistry of the European Society for Ceramic Implantology (ESCI). For me, as president of the ESCI, it was also a very special event. In Zurich, we not only celebrated 60 years of modern implantology, but also demonstrated how far ceramic implantology has matured today – scientifically, clinically, and technologically.

Over 200 participants from more than 20 countries listened to exciting lectures and workshops by 28 internationally renowned speakers and discussed material innovations, biological principles, and clinical applications of ceramic implants. The message was clear: ceramic implants are no longer just a trend, but represent the future of dental implantology. This was also reflected in the statement made by Prof. Tomas Albrektsson in his keynote speech on 60 years of implantology: “Ceramic implants are here to stay!”

The ESCI Congress 2025 impressively demonstrated that we are on the threshold of a new, metal-free and scientifically sound era of dentistry. I am delighted to be able to shape this path together with so many dedicated colleagues.

...what an extraordinary year 2024!
A lot has happened:..We moved our practice and expanded our team..Received the Excellence Award from the Romanian Society for Biomaterials..Was a mandate holder at the German Guidelines Conference of the DGI..Moderated the great annual meeting of the DEGUZ as 1st chairman..Held an extremely successful satellite symposium of the European Society of Ceramic Implantology ESCI as President..Coordinated the two curricula of the German Society for Environmental Dentistry DEGUZ..Spoke as a board member at the annual meeting of the Swiss Society for Anti Aging and Medical Prevention SSAAMP..and gave lectures at exciting national / international events and much more...!
Many thanks to all those who made this possible and supported me!
I am already looking forward to an equally exciting 2025 with the highlight ESCI Congress in September

It was a great pleasure to lecture as plenary invited speakerat 10th International Conference Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering & Medical Devices BIOMMEDD’2024 at National University of Science and Technology POLYTECHNICA Bucharest Romania. It was very exciting to discuss the topic of ceramic implants with other highly respected researchers from other areas of biomaterials research, as Prof. Yasuhiko Tabata (JPN), Prof.Ki D**g Park (KOR), Prof. Luigi Ambrosio (ITA), Prof. Ashok Kumar (IND), Prof. Norina Forna (ROM), Prof. Mario Monzon (ESP) and others.
A special honor was to receive the Excellence Award of the Romanian Society for Biomaterial out of the hands of Prof. Iulian Iulian Vasile Antoniac , the leader of the Biomaterials Group, head of the Biomaterials & Interface Phenomenon Laboratory, Vice Dean Faculty Materials Science and Engineering and member of the Senate of University Politehnica of Bucharest. He organized this outstanding Conference perfectly ... Thank you for invitation and your hospitality, dear Iulian!
