Participants explored the treatment of complex distal radius and elbow fractures through interactive case discussions, CT and X-ray analysis, and hands-on fixation exercises using pre-fractured specimens in a realistic clinical setting.

As course chair Dr. Hannemann shared with us, Leidenโ€™s most famous resident is Trix, the Tyrannosaurus Rex, known for having very short upper extremities. All the more reason to host an Upper Limb Course in Leiden!

Over two intensive surgical days, participants explored modern approaches to fractures and soft tissue injuries around the wrist and elbow using pre-fractured anatomical specimens. The hands-on sessions and interactive discussions created an outstanding learning experience for everyone involved.

Leiden, home to the oldest university in the Netherlands, provided the perfect academic setting. We were delighted to welcome participants from Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Croatia, and the United Kingdom.

Complex articular fractures of the distal radius and elbow remain a real challenge in daily practice. This course combines an intensive theoretical foundation with hands-on experience in a realistic clinical setting.
