Just a few examples for you of physical symptoms as a result of certain mental states ☺
- Fight or flight mechanism → The release of stress hormones in the body, such as cortisol and adrenaline, breathing changes, heart rate increase etc...
- Digestive System Changes such as nausea, diarrhoea, bloating or pain (There are lotsssss of nerve connections between the brain and the gut!!)
- People with skin conditions, including eczema or psoriasis, notice that during stressful periods their symptoms can become worse and respond less well to conventional treatments.
- Some pain conditions, like migraine and other headaches, can be triggered in some individuals by physical and emotional stress.
- Fatigue can also be present as part of mood problems such as depression and anxiety.
