A quick response can save a life. A few months ago, in the IBSA packaging department in Lugano, Gianni Rigato (Packaging Operator) acted rapidly to help a technician from an external company who collapsed. In recognition of his quick thinking and ability to put his training into action, on October 28, Gianni received the “I Cavalieri del Cuore” Award from the Fondazione Ticino Cuore, an organisation committed to promoting CPR training and raising public awareness.
IBSA promotes safety in the workplace through staff training, aware that a culture of prevention can and must involve everyone – people, institutions and companies.

In cybersecurity, the question is often not if a cyberattack will occur, but when. For IBSA, addressing this challenge means combining technology, training, and collaboration. That’s where our partnership with Ermes Browser Security, a scale-up from the Polytechnic University of Turin (IT), began. Once again this year, IBSA has renewed its support for the FFDUL – Film Festival Diritti Umani Lugano (“Human Rights Film Festival Lugano”). The 12th edition, held from 12 to 19 October 2025, featured eight days of programming and over 25 films. 🔬 IBSA Foundation Fellowships 2025: the call for applications is now open 🔬

For years, IBSA Foundation for scientific research has been supporting young researchers under the age of 40 from universities and research institutes across the globe.

For this 13rd edition, six fellowships worth €32,000 each are confirmed. New this year is the €5,000 Equity Prize, an award dedicated to the best project conducted in a developing country, to reinforce the promotion of equity and access to scientific research.
