GENNYMOBILITY
Technology, Design and simplicity. In my opinion these are the ingredients to introduce innovation. Technology because thanks to its self-balancing base, Genny leaves arms and hands free and gives self-sufficiency. Design because by applying it, we can reach integration. Simplicity because you learn how to use it naturally and intuitively. Genny is the emblem of mobility meeting the motivation. It is much more than just a means of transport to me, it embodies a proper philosophy. I’ve always tried to improve my everyday mobility but always without relevant progress. In 2009 an electric means of transport called Segway PT caught my attention. It’s a self-balancing means supplied with only two wheels. It was created by american Dean Kamen. Since Segway needs the user to be erect , the idea was getting this technology available to “seated population” as well. After the first times spent managing and verifying technology, being completely sure checking technology was the only way to check safety, I obtained a surprisingly revolutionary product. Previously it was me who had to rush and struggle to keep up. After Genny everybody started chasing after me. The freedom to move without constantly looking at the ground, not straining my arms till exhaustion anymore, holding my partner’s hand while we are having a walk in the city center or having an ice-cream and holding an umbrella at once: they all are extraordinary actions which mean a rediscovered autonomy. At that point I started feeling the responsability to share my idea. That’s how Genny Mobility SA was born simultaneously with the first model of Genny: Genny 2.0 Only a single piece of the puzzle was still missing. It came in September 2014 when Genny Mobility became the only authorized company by Segway to adopt self-balancing technology for people with mobility problems. Genny 2.0 is also sold as a medical device.
