美國時間2024年3月18日，專注於眼科醫療產品的設計、研發和製造的STAAR Surgical公司 (NASDAQ: STAA) 宣佈ICL全球植入量超過300萬枚(1)。

EVO ICL是一種可植入式晶體，旨在通過微創手術，滿足各類視力矯正需求，包括近視和散光。EVO ICL晶體植入術，不切削角膜，可快速植入在虹膜（眼睛的有色部分）和自然晶狀體之間。EVO ICL晶體含有膠原蛋白，具有生物相容性，可與人的眼睛和諧共處。如果患者未來需要做其他眼部手術，EVO ICL晶體還可由醫生取出。近視是一種常見的全球流行性屈光不正，預計到2050年，近視將影響全球約50%的人口(2)。
