What exactly is keratoconus – and how can you recognize it? 🔎
Keratoconus causes the cornea to thin and take on a cone-like shape – often resulting in distorted or blurry vision, even with spectacles. It typically begins in adolescence or early adulthood and progresses over time.
Typical signs:
🔹 Frequent prescription changes
🔹 Halos around lights
🔹 Night vision problems
With special contact lenses or treatments like cross-linking, we can slow the progression and support clear vision.
At Swisslens, we develop advanced lens solutions for every stage of keratoconus – from soft and RGP lenses to scleral designs – all custom-made to match each individual corneal shape.
