Swiss Ortho Clinic is an innovative and ongoing project at the core of Dr ECHEVERRI'S private practice, it has one goal and one strategy :
THE GOAL:
To provide the best care experience to orthopaedic patients, i.e those suffering from conditions affecting the musculo skeletal system such as shoulder, hip, knee, foot pain, deformity or infirmity. THE STRATEGY
To continue adopting the latest information technology to provide Dr S ECHEVERRI's private practice with the tools necessary to enhance Therapeutic Education and integrate other health care professionals. It is Dr ECHEVERRI's conviction that top quality health care in the near future will not be possible without technology and strong cooperation among colleagues. Echeverri deals with the prevention and correction of injuries and diseases of bones, muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments. He typically treats conditions such as fractures, degenerative joint disorders or arthrosis, ligamentous and meniscal injuries of the knee. His treatments range from conservative therapies to surgical interventions. MY EDUCATION
After six years of training at the Faculty of Medicine to become a Medical Doctor I worked for a year as a Research assistant at a Clinical Epidemiology Unit where evidence Based Medicine became essential to my clinical practice. My passion for biomechanics and material science combined with Medicine as the best way of helping others lead me to specialize in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology. After four years of residency training at the Javeriana University in Bogota and the Hopital Orthopedique in Lausanne leading to a degree of specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology I moved back to Lausanne. I obtained my FMH (Foederatio Medicorum Helveticorum) title as Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology. Entrepreneurial efforts to develop innovative solutions to our patient’s problems using technology are a valuable endeavor. With this conviction in mind I decided to complement my 14 years of medical and surgical training with an MBA in Management of Technology at the EPFL in Lausanne. The newly acquired tools helped me turn a clinical problem (cup orientation in Total Hip Replacement) into a product idea and subsequently a prototype solution for accurate orientation of the ace tabular cup, the PS-GANS. Research and Development is ongoing in cooperation with the Institute for Surgical Technology and Biomechanics at the University of Bern. MY OWN MEDICAL PRACTICE
In 2009 I opened my private practice in Lausanne. My experience in management has helped me develop innovative tools to better serve my patients and provide better quality health care through better communication. ABOUT ME
My multicultural background is the result of a fascinating eye opening experience having had the opportunity to live, study and practice in many different countries. Speaking different languages every day and spending time with my patients, identifying their problems and providing solutions could not be more enjoyable. I love my work.
