🔍 Step 1: Removal of Infected Dentine

• Using the small rounded excavator (ref. EX31L+ADEP), carefully remove carious tissue up to the leathery dentine without exposing the pulp.
• On DEJ and CEJ: Use the small waterdrop-shaped excavator (ref. EX09+ADEP) to access difficult areas.
• Along the axial walls: The mushroom-shaped excavator (ref. ART1+ADEP) ensures precise removal with continuous circular movements.

The expression “Selective Caries Removal“ (SCR) designates a particular procedure for excavating carious dentin in cavitated teeth, especially at the occlusal level (International caries detection and evaluation system “ICDAS“ Classification codes 5 and 6).

🌍 Earning Trust Around the World
In 1984, Deppeler introduced the M23® universal scaler, a tool that became indispensable for dentists and hygienists. After the Berlin Wall fell, Deppeler entered East Germany in 1990, where dentists appreciated the quality of its instruments.

By 1997, innovations like the titanium curette provided tools that were gentler for implants and patients. By 2008, Deppeler moved into a modern, eco-friendly Minergie-certified facility in Rolle.

These years cemented Deppeler’s reputation as a trusted partner for dental professionals worldwide.

📜 Craftsmanship Through the Decades
In 1934, Arnold Deppeler started creating Swiss dental instruments in a small forge in Rolle. By 1936, these instruments became known across Switzerland for their precision and reliability. During WWII, Deppeler provided alveolar surgical curettes to support the Swiss Army pharmacy.

In 1944, the workshop began exporting its flagship products—scalers, Gracey-like curettes, and tweezers—to Germany. By 1958, with the first milling machine in use, the company grew while preserving its hand-finishing expertise.
