ly concerns the design of foundations for overwater structures and anchorage, as well as the assessment of burial performance for pipelines, cables burial and other appraisals such as the stability of subsea slopes. Geoquip operates drilling equipment in connection with offshore oil and gas structures, offshore renewable energy installations, coastal and river infrastructures engineering and our expertise and equipment has many applications in the military, mining and petroleum industries. Through accurate seabed data obtained using investigative and geotechnical testing techniques perfected by Geoquip over a number of years, we are able to achieve large cost savings for our clients and their projects. We have seen an increased demand for our geotechnical services as well as our drilling and sampling techniques for mineral exploration, further to the developing interest in subsea mining. Geoquip Marine’s drilling expertise means that the company is able to satisfy even the most highly specialised of client requirements. Recent client projects have included drilling to a few hundred metres below the seabed to detect shallow gas pockets prior to the drilling of an oil well, as well as the drilling of a hole to install instrumentation for long-term monitoring of a reservoir or structure. Headquartered in Switzerland, we have operations in the UK and West Africa and operate on behalf of clients in the Middle East, Africa and the Far East, with drilling and geotechnical teams present in all of these locations throughout the year. Geoquip Marine’s 2024 Sustainability Report is now live! We’re proud to share our latest Annual Sustainability Report, highlighting a year of progress in environmental performance, employee engagement, governance, and innovation.

Key achievements from 2024:

We’re proud to have completed a preliminary geotechnical site investigation for two 4GW offshore wind projects in the German sector of the North Sea. These projects are essential to supporting Germany’s target of installing at least 30GW of offshore wind by 2030.

Our team drilled 28 boreholes, carried out detailed soil sampling and seismic monitoring at depths of up to 40 metres, and delivered high-quality, real-time seabed data to inform foundation design. This work was carried out using our geotechnical vessel Dina Polaris, equipped with advanced drilling, sampling, and testing systems as well as a fully operational offshore laboratory.

In recognition of our focus on safety, transparency, and reliability, we are proud to have received the developer’s prestigious safety award. Congratulations to everyone involved!

We’re proud to announce the successful closing of a €100 million bond issuance – a major milestone that strengthens our financial position and accelerates our strategic growth.

The investment will support fleet enhancements:

We are thrilled to share exciting updates on the ongoing strategic partnership between Geoquip Marine and the University of Bristol!

Since launching this four-year collaboration, we've already made significant progress:

✅ A Co-funded PhD student has commenced work on advanced geotechnical laboratory research on ‘problematic’ offshore material.

✅ The new partnership equipment (GDS Instruments DYNTTS) has been installed, enhancing research and testing capabilities.

✅ We are developing initiatives to reward and recognise the outstanding work of civil engineering students at PG and UG levels with Geoquip Marine Awards.

We are delighted to announce the addition of the Geoquip Silvretta, the seventh vessel in our fleet, which will soon undergo a cutting-edge conversion at Green Yard Kleven in Norway!

The conversion, scheduled for completion in Spring 2025, will also include numerous upgrades to enhance operational capabilities, such as expanded office spaces and sustainable energy solutions that minimise environmental impact.

During Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, we had the privilege of hearing from our Onshore/ Offshore Lab Tech and Mental Health First Aid Team member Daniel Coghlan RVM, who shared his personal journey with mental health, reminding us of the importance of open conversations and seeking support.

Additionally, last week, our Crew Coordinator Hugo Beanland took a bold step by shaving his beard after 10 years - a symbol of commitment to removing the stigma around men's mental health and raising £1300 for in the process.

Together, we're fostering a workplace culture that prioritises mental well-being, where every voice is heard and supported.
