Palestine - In Hebron, Nablus, and Jenin, nurses from the Beita Women's Development Society are leading life-saving conversations about breast health, as part of our global DearMamma campaign. 🩺💗

In Palestine, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, and too often it is diagnosed in late stages—when treatment is harder and outcomes are poorer. Awareness programs like these break down stigma, teach self-examination and screening, and encourage women to seek care early despite the challenges of limited access to specialized health services.

Every conversation, every screening, and every woman empowered to take action brings hope for more lives saved.

The DearMamma team in Palestine have been out in the communities of , , and informing women about the importance of making breast health routine.

The Beita Women's Development Society became part of the DearMamma movement in 2019, and the organisation's outreach is now in its 12th phase. They have already reached tens of thousands of women throughout Palestine, and their work is still going strong.

At DearMamma, we understand that early detection and treatment of breast cancer are not only crucial for saving lives, but also for enhancing the quality of life during and after treatment.

One such inspiring story comes from our partners at Bridge the Gap Ethiopia, where a breast cancer survivor, Bayush, is showing us the true meaning of resilience. A dedicated member of their support group, Bayush has also been part of the SurvivorCraft initiative, learning valuable skills like knitting and crafting.

With the skills she gained and a small investment from her son, Bayush started her own business, Bayu Knitting Training and Production. Today, she creates beautiful handmade products and is already planning to expand by offering training to others.

Her journey is one of hope, determination, and empowerment, and it’s a testament to what is possible when women are supported through early detection, treatment, and economic empowerment.

DearMamma is thrilled to be meeting with impactful leaders in Jordan to unite efforts, raise awareness, and educate women on the importance of early detection.

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women in Jordan. Unfortunately, many women are diagnosed at advanced stages, and the number of new diagnoses continues to increase. Early detection is crucial to saving lives.

Through our app, DearMamma enables women to learn about the signs, symptoms, and methods of self-check in the comfort and privacy of their homes. With our wide range of languages, we aim to break down barriers, especially in underserved populations, ensuring that every woman has access to life-saving information.

We're particularly thankful to the women of Badiri, an organisation dedicated to advancing the role of women, who are joining us in this effort.

Together, we're encouraging Jordanians to make breast health routine.
