How They Work

The "magic" of a bath bomb comes from a simple chemical reaction between two primary ingredients: Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) and Citric Acid.

The Reaction: When these ingredients are dry, they don't react. However, as soon as they hit the water, they dissolve and undergo an acid-base reaction, releasing carbon dioxide gas. This is what creates the signature fizzing sound and bubbles.

The Experience: As the bomb dissolves, it releases other packed ingredients like Epsom salts for muscle relaxation, kaolin clay for skin softening, and various oils for moisture.

🌿 HOW TO MAKE TURMERIC BAR SOAP (500g OIL FORMULA)

Turmeric is well known for its brightening, anti-bacterial, and skin-clearing benefits. When used correctly in soap, it gives a natural yellow colour and helps improve skin appearance without being harsh.
Let me teach you a simple turmeric bar soap formula you can make at home or for small-scale production.
🧼 OIL FORMULA (Total = 500g)
Palm oil – 200g
Coconut oil – 150g
Palm kernel oil – 100g
Castor oil – 50g
👉 This oil blend gives hard bars, good foam, and gentle cleansing.
🧪 LYE SOLUTION
Caustic soda (NaOH) – 74g
Distilled water – 170g
(Formulated with 5% superfat to be skin-friendly)
🌿 ADDITIVES
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Glycerin (optional) – 1 tablespoon
Fragrance or essential oil – 10–15ml
⚠️ Do not overdose turmeric — too much can stain the skin.
🔬 METHOD (Cold Process)
Wear gloves and goggles.
Slowly add caustic soda into water and stir. Allow to cool.
Melt all oils and allow to cool to 35–40°C.
Pour lye solution into oils and blend to light trace.
Mix turmeric with a little oil or glycerin, then add to the soap.
Add fragrance and stir well.
Pour into mould, tap gently, and cover.
Leave for 24 hours, then unmould and cut.
Cure for 4–6 weeks before use.
💡 TEACHING TIPS
✔ Turmeric gives natural colour — no extra dye needed
✔ Suitable for face & body soap
✔ For acne-prone skin, use mild fragrance or essential oil
✔ Always allow proper curing for best results
